i agree with most of this though i will say that health care and education is not the responsibility of the government...health care is a free market issue..its government involvement that hurts that...but especially education..that should be held at a state level..its because of the federal governments involvement that our school systems are failing...being funded by the government makes being funded more important than a childs education..the more kids you push through and the more disabled kids you have in your school the more money you get..if kids dont pass you get less money...so what do they do...they make testing easier...billy couldnt pass?..make it easier for him to pass instead of teaching him so that he can do it on his own...standardized testing?...thats why weve gone from superior in education to a laughing stock of industrialized nations...

The Economy (credit crises), Taxes, health care, education, Gun control... oh and national security are the most important issues to me.

I start to write too that I am for less federal government. Most of these things should be left to local and state gov... including education.

No, I don't think health care should be left to our federal gov. It would turn into a nightmare. I'm not proposing this... it's just a thought, but wouldn't it be better if healthcare expenses be deductible from taxes. Not a % over bull crap like they are doing now.

Social Security should be privatized, so we can have choices. I should be able to invest it the way I see fit if I choose. For those how don't want to handle their retirement, they can invest into a government managed plan. We should have an option. I don't think people should be forced to pay into to something if they don't want too. They are trying to pass a law that will force employers to automatically sign up new employees to their 401K plans.

Too many times women and some men are willing to give up freedom for security, the true is that you can't rely on the police to protect you. What makes people think the government is going to do the right thing. Over and over I've seen laws or codes go into effect with good intentions only to cost the american public more money and not offer any security or safety. It only becomes a tool for control/power.

The govt has now taken over the housing industry. Heard a guy from the wall street journal talking about how shocking that the govt has come in and taken over and nobody seems to be concerned about it. Now our taxes will pay for a failed industry. This isnt a bail out, like with chrysler and other corps where the govt lent them money. This is a total govt takeover. He said this is how countries become socialist. Gradually. Next the govt will come in and take over the ailing health care industry. The auto industry. Then we all will work for the govt. Eventually the govt steps in and takes over our entire lives. The masses will be controlled by a small group of power hungry people. Our politicians are influenced and purchased by money wielding lobbyists.

I totally agree and it seems the number of us that are aware of it are growing but there has still been no real shift towards liberty.

I do agree with you the solutions are fairly simple - get the government out of the peoples way but I disagree with you that Obama would do this.

No one is discussing it because there were no other choice. I think the majority of people DON'T want this. We ARE going to have to pay for it out of our pockets, but there was no other alternative. Fannie and Freddie held over 50% of the home mortgages. This was $5 trillion in home loans... do you understand what would happen to our economy if they totally went under.

yup, it would be catastrophic. Its between a rock and a hardplace. It really sucks when the govt has to take over what should be private. This could happen across the board
