I dont know baby1. So many issues. Today, Im finding myself troubled by the plight of vets. Especially disabled iraq and afgahn vets. Have heard they are not getting much help or support. Keep hearing that mccain has not been helpful and has consistently voted against them. Is Mccains attitude "Tough shit, youre a soldier. Get over it"???

If you haven't been to this site yet, check out McCain's plans for veterans and disabled veterans It would be ironic ti think that he would not have compassion for veterans.

Now that site talks about the legislation he has supported and voted for. I want to know what he has voted against and why. Im not trying to be anti Mccain, I just want to know why he is being labeled as anti-vet. Why are so many vets vehemently against him and accusing him of disrespecting their needs?

The issues that are important to me in this election are:

National security, tax policies, abortion, and gay marriage. Other issues also come into play, but those are most important to me.

That is why my choice is McCain.

You'd think national security would be at the top of most folks priorities. I want my liberties upheld. A huge part of my liberty is to not be robbed by our government under false pretense of the same ole bs of decades past that keep repeating the same results...if not steadily worse. More money taken from those hard working people to hand over to those not.

The Economy (credit crises), Taxes, health care, education, Gun control... deficit

Personal issues like abortion and gay rights shouldn't be decided by our government. Those are personal decisions.

i agree with most of this though i will say that health care and education is not the responsibility of the government...health care is a free market issue..its government involvement that hurts that...but especially education..that should be held at a state level..its because of the federal governments involvement that our school systems are failing...being funded by the government makes being funded more important than a childs education..the more kids you push through and the more disabled kids you have in your school the more money you get..if kids dont pass you get less money...so what do they do...they make testing easier...billy couldnt pass?..make it easier for him to pass instead of teaching him so that he can do it on his own...standardized testing?...thats why weve gone from superior in education to a laughing stock of industrialized nations...

There is only one issue I look at - Individual liberty but it's more of a standard than an issue. It doesn't matter what a candidate is speaking about, when you apply their position to how it connects with individual liberty - you get a grasp of the politicians intelligence, honesty and morality.

Politicians pander to the ignorance of the uniformed and the uniformed would rather vote for the politician that promises them more entitlements or enforcement of their morality on others, even though in the long run the politician must know these infringements will be more detrimental to his constituents in the future than if he guarded individual rights.

Obama will initiate a blitzkrieg assault on the idea of individual liberty - the concept will become even more of a mystery to the upcoming generations, in our culture, if he becomes president.

McCain doesn't understand the concept of individual liberty. He sees it as some type of buffet where you can pick and choose what liberties you want to protect. McCain thinks he can undermine liberty with pragmatism without undermining the entire concept of liberty - it doesn't work that way. He's already implied that there should be a limit to freedom of speech with McCain Feingold.

Between the two a good analogy is Obama wants to accelerate towards a pro-statist country (and that is change) while McCain is happy at our current speed.

Bob Barr is a little b1tch. I despise him because he has betrayed the ideals of libertarians. I truly believe he ran as a Libertarian with the idea of picking up the Ron Paul campaign's momentum, even though he does not fully represent libertarian ideals. However, he does more closely align with individual liberty than the other two.

...adding Barr to the analogy he would gently press the brakes.
