    Re: This is getting ridiculous!

A buck? I hate to tell you bro, but gas has not been around a buck for about 15 years which is way before this war ever started. It was around $2, but no where near $1.

98 cents in NY my junior yr of high school..so it was 7-8 yrs ago, for some reason a remember the first time i got gasoline.

What, you guys had gas that cheap that recently? The last time I remember sub dolalr gas was in HS, and I graduated in 1991. It makes no sense that ATL would be higher than NY, but I guess it was. Damn, that's pretty good....well, was pretty good.

Now this is something you and I agre upon. Imagine that - two people in one day! LOL. Seriously, the smart thing to do is converting to Hydrogen. As you said it is the most plentiful element in the universe, and we would fill our tanks with water. The byproduct is oxygen, not CO2. It is perfect. The government is only pushing Ethanol because it can make money on it. They own or subsidize every farmer in this country. Not only does Ethanol put money back in their pockets, but it enables farmers to support themselves. Ethanol is not all bad, but Hydrogen is the best option from a strictly scientific viewpoint.

ethanol is a bandaid on a bullet wound. hydrogen is the only viable method to fix the prob but the tech is so damn expensive

Production of ethanol will not only drive up the price of corn, but also a long list of other products as well.It will be a domino effect on food prices. Less corn to feed livestock for food production will cause an increase in prices.
Ethanol is only a temporary fix.

That's like saying We're going to raise the price of a gallon of milk to $30 a gallon because aliens planned on eradicating every cow on earth except one, but were foiled when zeus threw lightning bolts at the aliens and killed every last one saving the cows. But we'll raise the price anyway, because it could have happened!!!!!!!!!

It's only expensive until all of our funding goes into hydrogen research. Funnel all of the money we just funneled into Iraq, into hydrogen research instead and I'm willing to bet any money we would have perfected it, with it being affordable.

Look at how technologically advanced things are compared to ten years ago. Internet on your cell phone, bluetooth, lcd tv's, Mp3 players and that's the tip of the iceberg. What most people don't realize is that's technology from 20-30 years ago. It just wasn't released till now because they need to make money on each idea until it's worn out. Now thinking that today's technology is that old.........How advanced do you think we truly are?

For example look into the Microsoft smart homes. Those things are absolutely insane. Now with all of this we're supposed to believe that BMW can make hydrogen cars, but the american government isn't able to funnel enough money to make hydrogen cars affordable??

It's all about big business! If they wanted they could solve our crisis, but there's never money in the solution. There only is in a temporary fix!

I went and filled my truck up today at the diesel pumps and was suprised to see that the price of diesel is now below what the price of unleaded is.

In 1998 I got gas for $0.87 cents a gallon. I remember this b/c it was first year I drove.
