If you study political science and the history of the presidents JFK actually was a pretty terrible president. Him getting iced wasn't really a bad thing for the country. Somehow he left a good legacy and we look back on him as a good president. Right now Bush is trying to build the same thing so when we look back on him we'll remember him as a good president. I dont think thats going to happen when 80% of the US hates him lol

No doubt Bush has ****ed up the handling of the war in Iraq. He's tried the pacifist strategy, and it's failed miserabley. It's war, it's not checkers.

I don't think the campaigning strategy of the dems: 'lead us in defeat' will work very well. The next presidential election should be quite interesting. The Dems should have it locked, sealed, and delivered. I dunno if that's going to be the case depending upon who receives the Republican nomination.

Remember Bush was elected to his second term while we were already at war in Iraq. Americans didn't necessarily disagree with going to war in the first place. If they did, Bush wouldn't have had a snowball's chance in hell of being a two term president.

Sorry bro, but you're dead wrong.

Saddam blatantly violated the agreements he agreed to during the first Gulf war resolution. This war is totally justified legally on those grounds alone.

I wouldn't have gone to war in the first place as I mentioned earlier, but the war is not 'illegal' in any way.

im sorry the thread turned into this..You state the war is not illegal in any way but it is illegal in a few. We broke the U.N charter , we need their permission even if in our opinion iraq broke an agreement, we also went there under false information and deceit (bush amongst many others should be impeached, clinton was impeached for lying about somethine stupid). The constitution states that we can only declare war if our country is in eminent proven danger which we werent. and congress has SOLE power of declaring war, which is why theres hasnt been an official war since ww2.

Sadamn breaking an agreement is not a justification of war with an entire nation, if he broke a resolution , he should be put in jail.

dude...ask a military man...we're at war all the time...official, un-official, whatever. we have had wars with every sitting president that i can think of...they can call it "police" action, or whatever they want...trust me, we've been at war for your and my and everyone else on this boards entire life!
