Re: Defiant N. Korea fires series of missiles

Gentlemen please. Let`s not forget that our government for all it`s good and bad qualities has it`s own reasons to twist how things are written in history texts. Japan does it too, do you think that Russia or the French don`t? Of course they do. According to the French, Napolean was drinkin buddies with Jesus and was the true inventor of rock `n roll. Terrorism, Insurgancy, car bombing... all terms twisted to degrade the reputation of the enemy. Two sides killing each other for control of land is war.

What is important is that we use our brains, decide for ourselves after evaluating all the facts. Use your common sence.

    Was Vietnam a war?
    Is Iraq just an insurgancy?

Take a deep breath, throw off the matrix of media coverage that surrounds you, use your common sence and decide.

Bosnia....the citizens didnt want us there either....Panama? nope.....Yugoslovia.....them either...and Iraq sure as hell dont want us there..
I was using the term millions as the number of people killed loosely...like saying "you have tons of money"..There was lots of people killed thats all i know.no need to get all worked up avbout it.
Point taken! I misunderstood the occupied thing. To me, I look as someone occupying a country as controlling it. Sorry to have gave you shit about it. It was my misunderstanding.

As far as the Iraq thing though, I live in Colorado Springs where we have 5 military installations and I have meet dozens on people who have served over there and ALL of them say the civilians are glad we are there. The only ones that don't are the extremists and they make up the minority, that's why they are trying to use all these bombings to change the views of the people. I assure you, the people who have been surpressed by Saddam are glad we are there and that's the majority of the country.

See, that's where we mess up. If we really want them to have a voice of their own we should not tell them what to think. Any attempt to convert a Muslim to Christianity is an up hill battle all the way until they become more educated. Only 40% of the men over there can read and write and only 15% of the women.

First, they are going to need to get out from under the surpression. Then, they are going to need to learn to read and write. Then, like in the Christian religion, it will take many many many years before people challenge the actions based on the religion. The Catholic church wasn't challenged until Martin Luther. A man who read the Bible and said 'wait, we aren't doing what we are supposed to be doing'. He started the prodestant waive the we here now know as Christianity. That took a long damn time. And in reality, it will take a long time for most Muslims to realize that Allah doesn't really want killing of innocent people. I read in the Quran that the intentional killing of an innocent Muslim meant you would not go to heaven and that you would go to hell. But, these uneducated people they have carrying out these bombings don't know that because they can't read.

To force them to change religions is damn foolish, but to spread a democratic way of governing for the people, by the people, is indeed a great idea.

You're getting carried away on this point. The atom bombs caused thousands of women and children to suffer horribly. I suggest you check your nuclear facts. The bombings in Japan were meticulously documented and studied by both Japan and America. If you ever get a chance to see the A-bomb museum in Nagasaki, it will blow your mind how much suffering occurred in the weeks after the detonation. Hiroshima too.

Ok, let me rephrase it: Most people didn't feel a thing. There will always be aftermath from something like that. Yes, people will suffer after the fact but more died instantly than suffered later. That's a fact.
