Damn, after reading all this I really feel like a rookie. I have a ZX-7R and love it. It may be old and heavy for a sport bike but damn it's fun in the twisties.

Cool. Thanks for the input. I'll look into it. I have 3 friends who bought bikes in the last 2 months and they all got a GSX-R600. 2 of them are beginners and one said the GSXR was the fastest from what he read.
