Good luck bro. Definitely do the romantic thing. Forget about that 2 months salary for a ring. If she loves you then a $1k to $2K ring will do. After the ring you will have other expenses liek wedding and honey moon. Do you own a house? Will she want to live in an apartment after you get married? See there are way more important things than the price of the ring.
