the loan tomorrow to get the ring then am planning to go to the beach in 2 weeks and then do it as the sun sets over the beach this is so crazy one second i am installing some cable in an apt and the next i am planning on asking my g/f to marry me! i am really nervous guys!!! they say that 2 months salary on a ring but i don't think i wanna spen 8-9 grand on a ring! what are you guys thoughts on this?????

if thats what you want then go for it.....as far as how much, i dont know her but spend what you think is right, never been shopping for engagement rings so i have no clue what they cost.....my dad bought my mom a gigantic diamond ring for their 30th anniversary because when they got married he didnt have alot of money, fresh out of college and the army but he spent more on that ring then some people make in a year. Point being fuck it spend what you can afford now and if she loves you she will be around for you to buy her more in the future.

Marriage isn't about how big the ring is so just pick her out something that will match her body type. If she has small fingers and is petite pick her up nothing bigger than a carat but get a good quality one. Anything bigger would just look odd.

Oh and as for price it's ridiculous to spend two months salary! Thats just our society slinging more marketing crap at us. I think any more than $3,000 is crazy. Unless you clear $100,000 a year don't spend much more than that.

Right perfect doesn't have to mean spending a shitload of money. Honestly man $3000 is alot for a ring! I spent $1000 for my fiancee. If she complained I would have told her to give me the ring back and I wouldn't marry her because the price shouldn't matter, it's the meaning behind the ring that should matter.

If you want to make it perfect plan out a whole day where you spoil the shit out of her, romanticize her, and then end the day with the proposal on the beach like you planned. That's actually exactly what I did. Trust me If you get a ring that was $3,000 I highly doubt she would complain. If she loves you she'll be more excited no matter what. (unless its cubic zirconia, in which you'll get slapped at a later date when she finds out.) haha j/j

if i were u....id take some of the money that u were gonna spen don the ring and take a weekend or 4-5 days away to somewhere tropical but inexpensive and make sure there will be good weather and do it on a beach thats desolate that way right after u can have sex....i wouldnt be able to forget something like that..i rememeber all types of sex i have
