I thought it was great too. It gave me a better understanding of what I knew

i totally don't understand how anyone can put together foreknowledge with diminished emotional response.

besides, i went there for an emotional and possibily spirituasl experience. i'm not *complaining* about it. only describing how powerful it was.

you don't have to be religious to appreciate it, although i'm sure i appreciated it differently than someone of christian faith.
i tried to contain myself, but i escaped!

Saw it.. didn't cry, didn't feel sad. Never was a big fan of any judeo-christian religion, so thats probably why. Movie itself was good though...

same here bro's I have been raised in church all my life, my Uncle is a pastor....and hearing the story is bad...but actually watching it on film, was shocking..but true, it's a part of history, after watching it...it really makes you think that's for sure. No doubt a very good movie....

I think my post came off wrong... What i meant was, to me it was just a story, not something that actually happened, so it didn't make me feel anything.

Maybe this can help you explain why a religious person would cry at such a movie...

That being said, I cried like a baby.
              There nothing to cry for!

Why people dont cry for the million of kid getting killed by unger war or crime. when you see that in movie!

That movie has nothing in it to make you cry. If you do you are a wuzz
im religious and fuck it, its a story a visual representation of what happened 2000 years ago, if true then it is great, but there no way on hell I would cry for that. I saw worst in my life and it was not even worth a tear!

And im like BD here, didnt feel sad, cry, feel mad, nothing.... It was like watching a documentary of the Christ's beating. All my life I was taught what happened in this movie and I was told WORST about what happened to the christ.
Unfortunately this wont happen again in our politically correct schools anymore.

also... how did/does gibson know how exactly jesus got beaten etc... i mean he could have made it less violent or even more violent.. it was all up to him...

3Vandoo: I'm extremely religious. Therefore the movie held much more of a meaning than the documentary of a beating. Sorry for being a wuss. I'll strive to live up to your expectations next time

i agree with vandoo as well.people watch this movie and get emotional and cry, but there is just as bad if not worse things happening in the world today. why do people not cry for these misdoings. there are to many people who claim to believe in god but that do nothing to try and improve things for the ones suffering. in my books, that is just paying lip service. believing in and doing god's will are two different things. one will get you in the gates, the other turned away. you are judged on your ACTIONS ,not your beliefs. there is not enough action from these self professed doers of god's will.

Wrong. What gets you in the Gates is Being Saved. Having a personal relationship with God. Believe Jesus died for your sins, you are a sinner, and you will be saved. Thats how you get in the gates....Works will not get you in the gates. Works determine your rewards in heaven. Wether you live like a king or clean toilets so to speak.

no, i am not a catholic. i will do what i can to save myself, i don't expect a free ride . helping your fellow man is an important part...yes ,i do believe i read that somewhere once....i believe in backing up my beliefs with my actions, i wouldn't expect anyone to help me if i wasn't prepared to do the same for others, i am no hypocrite. i like to practice what i preach. i do not slander anyones regilion but it appears some others do ,i also do not claim to be right, but i do respect everyones regilion. understanding and tolerating your fellow man , i believe , is also in the book.
