Why not instal the amp underneaith the trunk hood. Will make it a little heavey but will look clean and give you some more room.

Can you mount the amp to ur back seat...that's how I have mine! Hook up the Nos in the middle of your trunk...and your subs if ya have them on each side of the Nos!

Also the NOS, i'm not sure what year of mustang you have but if you dump your spare tire you shoudl have enough room to hit it where the spare use to go.

i bought a proturbo kit for my 95, the car already had a built motor so it wasnt stock (dss super pro 306 w/sportsman block), but i think it was the best 3500 ive ever spent. On pump gas it made 648 rwhp 702 rwtq woot!

                        Thanks for the tips guys.

Plucks: The amp underneath the decklid is a good idea. My only worries is that I often show my car, and the 1000W amp is a pretty nice showpiece. I want it out of the way, but not out of view if you know what I mean. The car is a 1970 mustang grande. The spare tire has already been removed. Mustangs of this vintage didn't have a spare tire well so the spare sat on top of the trunk floor. If you look at the picture you'll notice a yellow can of "fix a flat" that's my cheesy spare tire!

bjtheman: Cant mount the amp to the back seat because there's no back seat. Just a big-ass subwoofer box holding 2 12's and a 15.
RIP BigJim33 & GearedUp: You are sorely missed my friends.

Hindsight is always 20/20. But looking back it's still a bit fuzzy.

Took some deciphering, but thanks bro! I don't think I'll end up mounting it under the decklid anyway.

Oh i thought it was a newer one. Well in that case the trunklid is the perfect spot, i have a 73 mach I and teh trunk lid opens all the way up so when you are showing the car it will be right there for everyone to see. You would have to find a way to lock the trunklid in place while its open there is a place called www.sacrementomustang.com they have alot of great aftermarket and vintage parts and they might have something that can help you with it.

Ah trunklid! I thought you were talking decklid!!

I'll have to look into that! The weight is my biggest concern. Since I added the wing, my trunk barely stays up as it is. I may be able to adjust the spring tension a little to compensate tho..
