Anyone grow flowers so they can watch the birds ? This year I did velvet queen sunflowers 3 different colors of zinnias and catnip .

So far my sunflowers are doing well , zinnias are growing like weeds and catnip is good according to my cats.

Next year doing alot of daisies and red hot pokers

Can't post pics til next month

No, but I do grow veggies. Birds are my enemy. But I do like sitting out in my garage and listen to the doves coo while I drink a brew and smoke a cigar. Several years ago There were a bunch of doves on the back fence, they spooked and took off all at once and I saw a blur and an explosion of feathers. When I figured out what was going on there was a hawk or falcon in my driveway 15 feet from me with a dead dove. I watched him eat it right there in front of me and did not move. My brew went warm and my cigar went out but well worth it. All that was left was a pile of feathers.

We have lots of hawks and eagles here along with wild turkey , but I bird watch became my cats do . I'm on 3rd floor and have quite a view . Coolest thing I had happen was 5 owls landed on my fence in Illinois years ago and I pet a baby owl.

If u ever get to northern Indiana bring ur pole and we'll go fishing behind my apartment . Where there's a very large pond with bluegill bass and catfish. Its all private property and im 20 mins from dispensary

Love me some fishing! I live in the city, no turkeys but lots of regular birds. My neighbor feeds them so we have lots of dove and seed eating birds as well as hawks and falcons that eat them. Also black vultures. They are probably the biggest bird around here. If a critter gets run over by a car, the vultures will descend and eat it up.

I am not a bird watcher per se, but I did have this guy come down and take a bath in my sprinkler while I enjoyed a cigar.

Can't beat a nice day, relaxing scenery outside in nature and a good cigar.

I just got a new Stihl weed wacker pro model. 37 cc. Its a damn beast. I had over an acre of 4 foot weeds. I now have 3 weed wackewrs, a DR walk behind, a stihl bike handlebar pro and now this new one. Keeping weeds down is critical when there are rattlesnakes. This new stihl is the baddest ass weed wacker I ever used

Oh man, powerful trimmer. I have a 4 stroke cub cadet that is HEAVY but it just idles through weeds and if I hit a tough patch give the throttle a bump and NO MIXING GAS!

(But I do have to change the oil)

Stihl is a really cool brand of garden and lawn care products. But at the same time, I also like the Echo devices. They have their own advantages too. I really liked this article comparing two good brands.

This Stihl weed wacker is something else. The power is wicked. I got some professional grade trimmer line for it and I can obliterate weeds in seconds even take out small trees..I get nervous when the weeds get high because if there is going to be rattlesnakes, at least I can see them if the weeds are cut. The torn rotator cuff burns like hell when I weed wack but hell, someones gotta do it.

I think they are comparable. They are both higher end professional quality products.

I like to attract and feed the birds but I do it in the winter, otherwise it's like laying out a Smorgasbord for the cats and hawks.20201220_105215.jpg
