  • Managing reflux and tapering off PPI

Need some guidance if anyone has any advice. Had a minor flare up with silent reflux and some mild esophageal discomfort back in November and started a ppi. Doc says we can handle this with good diet and is wanting to get me off the Prilosec. Any advice on how to taper would be great. Also this whole world of reflux has been a whirlwind of anxiety for me so any advice that they may mitigate flare ups would be appreciated. Thanks guys and gals [emoji1365]

You should try some Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice Extract. I orderd it off anmazon. Chewable and no bad side effects like prilosec.

I have a ton of it. How do you use it? I’ve tried it a million different ways and not sure what works and what doesn’t. Never used it without also being on a ppi tho.

        I don't tough prospect..
        Or any anti acids.

Apple Cider vinegar tabs 480mg 3x w/ meals
        Good digestive Probiotics
Lots of fiber I add in fiber gummies.
        Magnesium oxide 500mg at night

Staying flushed out bile has more room and acids don't bubble up

i am same as you. i had it so bad that i couldnt lay down flat. docs poured all the traditional garbage onto me and it didnt work. only difference between you and i is that i use liquid acv instead of caps. if diary can be tolerated it can also help some people as well, that is in small amounts

Those damn ant acids work in the beginning and then just make the prolem worse! Good you are getting off those. Great advice here form everyone! Orange, you mentioned you have tried a lot already, and I am sure you have... Aloe juice helps me, ginger, parsley..there really is a whole lot. Just have to find out what helps you and it may take some time . Keep us posted
