Re: Rude awakening this morning at 4:30am

My wife and I drove to the gulf Monday for a little getaway.

Mosquitoes were so bad we came home. As soon as you stepped out there were HUNDREDS on you. Deet repellent did nothing, I think it was like an appetizer before feeding on my blood. I wore long pants and long sleeves on the beach even out in the surf! Bit right through it. Tried to fish off the kayak. 1/2 mile out in the bay they were still there. All over me. We have many hundred of bites and even our eyes are swollen up from being bitten.

Now I have to finish my son's room today. Not a great week. Talked to a local who said it was the worst he can ever remember it and he has lived there his whole life.

Such is life. I am a man and I will handle my responsibilities like the man I am. (cussing, drinking beer, being grumpy but getting it done)

I do not think so, coastal mosquitoes are not as bad as urban ones. When you have more people you have a higher chance of disease transmission.

I still itch all over. I took benadryl last night and at least slept some.
