To me it means self control. I think the "more is better" mindset is natural when it comes to human nature. When you thoroughly enjoy something, you want more of it. When you really love someone, you want to see them more. When something tastes amazing, you want to eat more of it. To me, the "less is more" mindset is self control. It's the realization and understanding that less of something right now could mean more when it comes to your ultimate goal in the long run over time.
