Our gym purchased the members of another gym....

I just want to start out saying I don't think I'm better than anyone else. But our gym purchased the member base of a lower end gym. You can definitely tell the difference of the members. I was kind of in the zone you know pressing 110 dumbbells, sweat on the bench and this young dude ask if I was done. When I said no, he then went to asking me how many sets I had left. Let alone there is another empty bench at the end of the dumbbell rack. I just looked at mine, looked at the one not being used and said yeah man. You can have this one and I will use the other one that's not being used. I'm normally laid back and helpful. I will work in or let others work in. But I never would have done what he did. I texted my wife because she was on her way and warned her. It didn't get much better as more of the new members arrived. I'm thinking it's time for me and a few close friends to rent a warehouse and start our own personal gym. Anyone else experience this. I felt like a high school bully at one point.... 😂

as long as people have good gym manners and respect i dont mind them but seems like today everyone that walks into any gym thinks they are king kong or mr universe and they are entitled to do or take anything they want to. dont clean up after themselves sit on machines txt fucking off or taking 10-15 min between sets. dont even get me started on the punk asses setting up cameras to video their sets. one dumb ass had a gopro camera on in mine one day. mother fucker you think you are someone or something special?

It's only gotten worse. I'm on the verge of purchasing a Mexico Flag to hang in there now. Nothing wrong with any race coming in and working out. But these guys leave weights in the floor, park by taking up two spaces and I'm having to keep an eye on my gym bag. I'm friends with the gym owner or I would have done called a few out. Like the ones slamming the GD weights and breaking the cable machine. I weld and fabricate on the side and I repaired two broken slides the other night.

That sucks. The owner of that gym got greedy and now he is going to lose some members due to all the new assholes he brought in

I've seen it more and more lately in so many different gyms. I remember 20 years ago you had a couple guys here and there walking around with infinite lat syndrome, acting like a jackass and not really respecting anyone. Nowadays it's like every other guy walks around like they're damn mr. Olympia, mean mugging everybody, slamming shit around everywhere and not picking up after themselves. There are so many gyms I refuse to go to just because of the idiots that work out there. Crazy stuff.

Iv got so many stories like this but I’ll just read y’alls as my blood pressure is already rising thinking about it. Gym etiquette is very simple, common sense, and common curtesy.. apparently half the gym goers aren’t aware of or have.

One reason I’m happy that I workout at a gym that’s known for some pro bodybuilders and powerlifters that it’s helped produce. It’s not a gym that a random person is very comfortable in and if they come check it out, they will head back to LA or 24 pretty fast. Also, there is always someone there who will immediately call you out if you’re acting stupid.

I was one of those that got my membership bought out when our gym closed. We got bought by this ritzy ass gym on the rich side of town. I went for my 6 months until they wanted to triple our rates and I quit and found a cheapie hole in the wall gym near my house. I found all the folk at the ritzy gym all snobby and stuck up. I do miss all the amenities and the clean real towels in racks all over the gym. Now we just have paper towels.

But no reason to be a pushy dick. you were way nicer than me bro. I would have told him to take his happy ass down to the other bench.

Rude crowded gyms do suck. I travel half the month for a business. New York and LA gyms take the cake. Rude younger people (or oblivious) and people smelling like rotten curry make me sick.

Start wearing an "ICE" shirt, hat, mirrored glasses and black gloves. In 10mnts of you getting there the offending members, friends and families will be at least a state away before you can finish your workout...
But let a few hang around for your warehouse gym set up if still interested lol
