Sometimes as we age this "pump" seems harder and harder to get. Any old man tricks around. I think stress, h2o, sleep all really take a toll on it but minus copious amounts of no2 what do you use as a go to for getting out of a pump slump?
Man my pump goes to shit when I'm stressed and tired. If my sleep is off or I have an extra stressful day at work, I can forget getting pumped in the gym. Also my pre-workout meal timing. If I time my meal wrong, or get stuck doing something else between my pre-workout meal and when I actually train my pump is messed up.

The meal is the key! I went all day yest with only protein. Gym sucked buttermilk. Good workout but no pump.
Yep, if my meals are off I'm toast. If I time my meals wrong, I can sometimes get a little pumped if I throw in an intra-workout carb drink. But if my meals are off and I'm also behind on sleep.... Nothin'.

If I'm not adequately hydrated and haven't had a good carb meal at least 2-3 hours before im screwed. Not being hydrated really fucks me most of the time. I workout right when I wake up so...

if you are going with a low to no carb approach a good pre workout will help out to a certain extent. that and a proper pre workout meal 45-60min prior makes all the difference in the world. i have found that adding fat to my protein and carbs in my meal also helps facilitate a better pump
