I absolutely see where you are coming from, but then I would consider the fact that if the theory of needing a belt to do a correct squat or deadlift for any weight would insinuate that the anatomy of the human body is not designed at all to carry or lift things which is not the case. That is why I am skeptical. I am a certified personal trainer and trained under some very notable fellas. One of my teachers was a trainer for a pro football team and not throwing that out there to brag, but just to reinforce where my information comes from. I feel there are many studies out there that contradict each other. Constantly new studies disproving this or proving that. All comes down to what works for you IMO.

that's where secondary and accessory work comes from. i also didnt at any point say that a belt was needed to perform a proper squat or deadlift. i said that using one for heavy loads and not the lower feeder loads changes the firing patterns. i am not going to argue the point. just passing on what i have learned and applied with success but then again i am busted up from work and i am always looking for an edge.

no worries, it is hard to convey your thoughts over posts. that and we tend to leave out points as we move it along. it is a great long lifetime learning process

I'm in my 40s and never used a belt unless I was going to max, I've never used knee wraps. Well I tried them once and didn't like the feel at all. I'm a bit old school and go with the thought of a strong core will keep things in line and when you feel it break down is when you need a belt. For me now I don't use a belt until I hit 575 squatting that's where I feel my spine start to flex a bit. Then it's the old leather double prong called to duty. This is rare these days because I don't need to go that heavy to get the work I want to do done.

I have a unbreakable gear belt its my 1st belt. No way im gonna squat 500 or deadlift 600 without it. When im just doing light shit i wont use it but i rather have that security

I just bought my lady an SBD lever belt. SBD just released them. It's almost a 300 dollar belt but it's a work of art. We also have a coupe Inzer lever belts. Theres a lot of good belts out there, it's just preference. I'm a big fan of Inzer but just released they look like bobos next to the sbd.

Yah all SBD's stuff is overpriced. Everything is excellent quality, it's all just more expensive then it probably needs to be.

That's a sweet looking belt and for that price it should add a hundred pounds to whatever lift you are doing! Really nice!
