  • Male hormone lab question

My doc ordered hormone labs on me and I have to get blood drawn on 3 seperate occasions 48 hours apart. Each blood draw is for the same labs. Any TRT experts on here know why it's done like that?

I would say becuse certain blood levels change at certain times of the day. Test level is supposed to be highest in the earlier part of the morning. Probably wants to see how the levels are flucuating?

yeah. i am lucky i pay cost for my labs. docs charge for the blood draw then double the price for the labs. but i suppose it is more accurate with 3 to see what is going on. i am no doc but it does seem like a lot

Definitely not a money thing is I'm in the military so the docs don't make any extra money off of it. I'm thinking maybe it's just protocol before military docs can consider TRT.... maybe?

yep that's exactly how both they and the va do it. they have to make sure they have good enough documentation on it being an issue because once they commit you to it you are on it forever. not to mention it is going to be something you can claim on your way out

                  Re: Male hormone lab question

I waited three weeks after my last injection of testosterone cypionate before I took the lab. I was only on 200 mg a week for a little over a month and before that I was taking about 600 mg a week. Anyone got any best guesses as to if I waited long enough to drop my testosterone levels below normal? I certainly feel like shit that's for sure. I would've liked to wait another week but the labs the doctor put me in for were only good for a certain amount of time so I had to go get them done.
