  • Questions for injectable B12 users.

Thinking about running some injectable B12, but have a few questions that my research hasn't answered so well. There seems to be conflicting info so I'll just seek out some first hand experience.

1.) Mythylcobolamine vs. Cyanocobalamine. Supposedly cyano has to be broken down to methyl before it can be used, and ends up losing a lot of potency in the process, making methyl far superior. However, methyl is far more expensive....worth the price difference?

2.) Do you have to up the dose if using cyano since it is not absorbed as efficiently as methyl?

3.) What dosing schedule worked best for you, and was it subQ or IM?

    Thanks all!

There have been great advances I'm sure since 10 years ago, but I tried them both and they were so painful it just wasn't worth it. I mean just straight up painful. Painful injection...painful period.
I've taken a liquid form on b12 forever and it seems to work fine. Not sure if it's any better or worse than the injectable form since I bailed on it lol

Sublingual b12 methyl, the other is crap and this is better than injections. Blood test to prove its efficacy. I found a certain brand that is inexpensive and works at 2000mcg a day

I couldn't tell a big diffetnce after the first week between orally and injectable. The supposed big diffetnce is orally your body only absorbs what it normally uses and the inject aborbs all of it.

My Mom was getting the Cyanocobalamin injection ,IM, from her doc for about 2 years. Not only did it do barely anything to raise her B12 blood levels, and she is very deficient but they made her sick. I researched and found a b12 ythylcobolamin that you take sublingual and the only ingredients in it are the b12 and purified water. She takes it daily and repeatedblood tests showed and increase in her levels. her b12 level is now in the top range of normal. I personally wont use anything else but that.

Tried and true and my Mom is a 75 year old diabetic as well as some other health issues. I have her on the Vitamin D from here to. Excellent products and priced right. her doc couldn't believe her numbers and when my loved ones are sick and I see them with no success from treatment, my wheels go round and round till I find something to help them.
