HAVE YOU GUYS SEEN ALL THE COMMERCIALS ABOUT THE HEART ATTACKS AND STROKES CLAIMED TO BE FROM THIS?

I HAVE FRIENDS THAT HAVE BEEN ON TESTOSTERONE FOR YEARS WITH OUT ANY ISSUES. WHY THE PANIC ABOUT THE ANDROGEL? WHAT DOES IT HAVE THAT INJECTIBLE DOESNT MAKING IT MORE DANGEROUS?

    WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?

From what I understand many of these lawsuits are being filed by men 60+ years old. My thoughts are it's harder to regulate how much test you are actually getting in your system when you use the gel. Things like lotion, sunscreen, and freshly exfoliating can cause more test to be absorbed then when just applied without those things.

I've never used the gel before but some friends that have used it said they retained a lot of water and had to keep their sodium in check. If someone had a pre-existing condition this COULD cause heart and liver problems I guess.

Another thing I've noticed. The docs that prescribe the gel over the shot tend to do so because they don't know much about TRT. So no anti-estrogen is prescribed. Too much estrogen for us guys can cause health risks. In my opinion, it's these things that are leading to the lawsuits. Older men and doctors who don't understand TRT. Docs are tossing the gel at patients because pharmaceutical companies are pushing it and doctors feel like the gel is easier than teaching a patient to inject themselves. I was actually told by a doctor he would prescribe test cyp or test e because he saw it as a liability if a patient screwed up giving themselves a shot so all he prescribed was the gel. Ridiculous in my opinion.

Memphis is spot on...it's because docs with their head in the sand on trt issues, pharms pushing their products down peoples throats and yes most the issues are on older men.

As many of us know transdermal don't work real well.

02 one of the research docs from md did a column on this exact subject a couple months back. he showed how these snakes makes cases like this happen with the flawed research study. now i cant remember exact specifics on the numbers but it came down to something like this: ok you have 100 ppl in a study ok so 2 of them have heart attacks strokes or whatever. well they take it and say that one of those 2 was the exact same age or what have you. that gives you say 50 % effect if you only have 2 ppl in that category so it makes the numbers super inflated. so in reality you only have 2 out of 100 that had a heart attack which equals 2% but the fudge their numbers to make it look like a higher perectage of issues. like i said that is my example above and not the specifics but it was somewhat similar.

also these snake lawyers will do whatever they can to make a buck. even if you were taking something that the benefit out weighs the risk and you knew the risk. you can still make money off of being harmed. a huge crock of shit imho

Testosterone naturally increases cholesterol that is just the way it is. But for lawyers to take something that occurs naturally is criminal

it's been my personal experience that too many doctors do not know what they are doing when it comes to trt. especially pcp docs. it's really like i'm at least two steps ahead of them on everything but have to pretend not to be so as not to seem like I am a test seeking patient. anyone else know what I mean on this?

I know exactly what you mean! I've tried to see docs and they iust pushed the gel. I've told them my concerns with small kids and stuff but that's all they want to prescribe. It's a load of crap. I'll stick to my own version of trt.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I had to do the whole concern with small kids thing too. It was a real concern! I'm with you on sticking to my own version of trt! The bs isn't really worth the effort.

we had a 62 year old Fire Chief that worked out my old gym... he did All natural shows rite. but he had these test patches all over his body every damn day and i gotta say the dude was shredded for his age and had some really good mass to him.. plus i know a lot of other older guys that use the patches and the gels... and a lot of it.. so if these so called Dr are right about this stuff causing heart attacks and strokes then i am pretty sure these guys would have dropped a long time ago.. im with Guns.. its a huge crock of shit!!!!

I have two kids under the age of two and my wife. The thought of accidentally holding one of them too soon or accidently exposing them to the gel was a really huge concern of mine. I had been on trt for two years... The shot. Then I moved and no doctor here would prescribe the shot even with my medical records. Just like you then you get into the whole "doctor shopping" thing. It's big pharma companies pushing a crap product and lining a doctors pocket even more.

From what I've seen older people do respond well to the gel and patches. I know a lot at my gym who use them and like you said all are very healthy.
