  • i think i'm done...

...i dont think i want to do the size thing anymore. this is the second time i got to/above 225 and i dont think i like it. i know...small for most you guys, but i swear, i have a hard time breathing when i'm over 225. i'm always tired...cant catch my breath...i just dont know that i like it. i wanted to get to 230-235, but i dont know...
210-215 felt pretty good. maybe if the 225 was a lot tighter or maybe if i did cardio, it'd be better? i know 225 aint alot...i just HATE being fukin tired and struggling to get up from the couch!! i started this at 155ish (very soft 155)...incase that matters. what do you guys think?

it needs to be about health as well as looking good. so ....you need to do some cardio to be healthy. if you do cardio and workout good i would just stay at whatever weight feels good to you. it does take some time to get use to added weight and your body adjust to it.

That's defintely a cardiovascular issue. More cardio would make you a lot healthier and feel a lot better.

Now how many times have we had to tell you, size doesn't matter!

If you feel better at a certain weight, then that's more important than weighing more.

A friend of mine who use to compete many years ago found out he has sleep apnea. He as a very well developed-thick chest... well his whole upper body is thin. Anyway the doc told him that with that amount of muscle mass it press down on his lungs at night making it hard for him to breath. Grant he's not as lean as he was when he competed. He's still trains hard and is in good physical condition. It just goes back to any amount of extra weight that you carry around wether it's muscle or fat still effects your body.

I HAD A FRIEND THAT CAME DOWN THIS SUMMER AND HE WAS ABOUT 195-200 AND WAS LEAN AND LOOKED GREAT. IF I COULD THATS WHAT I WOULD WANT TO DO. HE WASNT TOO BIG AND WASNT TOO SMALL. HIS PHYSIQUE WAS JUST ABOUT PERFECT.

YOU HAVE TO FIND THE COMFORTABLE SPOT YOU WANT AND SHOOT FOR THAT.
              GOOD LUCK DAVE!

I like being as big as possible and having that "look of power". I have to do sprints or timed squats or the breathing and tiredness starts affecting me as well. Once the sprints take hold it's really not an issue,it's just i can't stand running.Good luck with your choice tho, I'm sure you'll look fine as a bean pole.....ha ha, j/k brohem

Bro, you'll get use to it, if you decide to stick it out. My breathing and body temp was comparable to one of my fat friends, the first time I hit 250 and my respiration has definitely adapted. I don't do cardio either, LOL but I will implement some higher reps on my last set of an exercise.

thats what i do to loose weight now!! in about another 3 weeks, i'll switch from 3-4 sets per @ 8-10 reps, with 2min breaks, at mostly compound movements to more isolated, 12-15 reps, 90sec rest and 5 sets.
maybe i'll just bump up the reps a little and add sets...

                          Re: i think i'm done...

Im in the same boat. I was into the bulking "how big can I get" thing for years. I got up to about 235 last fall. But like you my body didnt do well with the weight. I was big and strong, but felt like crap. I got down to about 203 which I think is a little too small. I think I want to get to a LEAN 210-215. Point is, I know what you mean. With the gym, supplements, and "supplements" available, we can get as big as we want but genetics play a big factor in how much weight and size your body can comfortably carry

No offense to anyone but not everyone is meant to carry around that much extra weight. At my biggest, which was only 220 I couldn't breath when I was bent over tying my shoes. lol I enjoy the size but my small framed bone structure is just not designed to hold that much extra muscle.
I do agree cardio will help but feeling like a slug is not for me. But I'll put that weight back on again anyway. lol

If your carrying too much extra weight for your frame, I disagree with cardio being the answer. It helps but it is not a fix. I did plenty of it when I was in the 230's and still felt sluggish.
