    03.27.06 - U.S. Anabolic Steroid Punishments Increased!
The U.S. Sentencing Commission has published notice of temporary "emergency" (i.e., immediate) amendments to the federal anabolic steroid sentencing guidelines. Henceforth, injectable and oral steroids will be quantified for punishment in a 1:1 ratio to other Schedule III drugs, resulting in a twenty-fold measurement increase for injectable steroid units and a fifty-fold increase for oral steroid units. Steroids in other forms ("e.g., patch, topical cream, aerosol") will be reasonably estimated based on a consideration of 25mg as one unit. Additionally, sentencing enhancements will apply in cases involving distribution to "athletes" or where coaches use their positions to influence athletes to use steroids, as well as in cases involving "masking agents." While likely to impact dealers more than personal users, the new 1:1 ratio nonetheless ignores fundamental differences between steroid usage and volume patterns as compared to other Schedule III drugs. Other potential problems with the amendments include the lack of any reference to potency in oral or injectable steroids, potentially leading to black market adaptations to circumvent the amendment (e.g., the creation of high potency "mega-pills") as well as the lack of any knowledge requirement involving distribution (e.g., via the Internet) to unidentifiable customers who may turn out to be athletes. It is expected that the revisions will be made permanent by Congress in November. [For further information, see the written testimony of Rick Collins to the Sentencing Commission, the transcript of his appearance before the Commisssion, the Report of the USSC Steroids Working Group, and the Commission's Notice of Amendment to the guidelines.

The OLD federal sentencing guideline stated:

    (G) In the case of anabolic steroids, one "unit" means a 10 cc vial of an injectable steroid or fifty tablets. All vials of injectable steroids are to be converted on the basis of their volume to the equivalent number of 10 cc vials (e.g., one 50 cc vial is to be counted as five 10 cc vials).

So in the past 50 tablets = 1 unit (what you're charged with) or 1000tabs/tub of Anabol = 20 units. NOW 1 pill/tablet = 1 unit, if you get caught with 1 tub of Anabol, you're going to get charged (federally) with 1000 units of steroids. Basically you are ****ED!

this is very, very bad guys. the political pressure has led to this. we can all thank the media for this bullshit.

You know, it's funny how they will take the right to use aas from us because there is the 'potential' to harm us. But yet, they allow cigarette companies rake in billions of dollars, charge taxes on it and everyone knows cigarettes kill 1,200 people every single day. This is total phuking bullshit!!!!!!! This country is going ass backwards in their ways. Who gives a crap if some dude wants to put on 20 pounds of muscle, it's his body, right? But yet, if he's 21 he can go get drunk every single day until his liver fails. WTF?
I used to have superhuman powers....until my therapist took them away.

it varies from state to state. i would just get a copy of legal muscle if i were you (or anybody who uses AAS really)... it pretty much breaks it all down for you. after reading it you probably won't want to use any more lol.

both. just don't keep your gear anywhere out in the public eye (i.e. car, gym bag etc...) and know thy source and you'll be fine. its an over exhaggeration thats trying to get the community all wound up in my opinion.
