Wondering what peoples thoughts on intra-workout supplements were. I have always just had a shake after however, as my workouts get longer (hour and a half sometimes two hours) I have been reading about intra-workout supplements. Would love to hear what you guys think.

Re: Intra-Workout Worth it?
Yes, I have been using Athletic Xtreme Gym Juice and it has been improving my lifts since I have added 40 minutes of cardio. I also put in 5 grams of L Leucine in the mix (it does not taste as good). My lifts have actually improved. If you are not doing cardio and lifting for an hour or hour and half, I dont think intra workouts are as beneficial.

prime nutrition intra md
prime nutrition intra md eaa (carb free)
vitargo w/ whey or casine hydroslate.
you can watch the videos and research the science about all the products above. i will do a quick break down on how i understand how they work. with periworkout nutrition, you are going to cut your recovery time big time. so look at it this way, you are going catabolic while you are training and then you have to pull yourself out of that catabolic state and then up and into the anabolic state when you leave the gym. so why not lower how far you get into that catabolic state while you train? when i added the vitargo combo and then went over into the intra md, i have been able to train each muscle 2x per week and still recover and grow. so i was sold at that point and havent stopped using the products since. another great thing about using these products is that i am not in a huge rush to have a shake and or a meal immediately post workout. i am already primed so i can wait 20-30 mins and then eat or i can eat immediately post, it is completely up to me. i would say give it a go and toss out all your bcaa and other products because you wont need them any more. you can even get rid of your protein shakes unless you are using them as meals or at other times of the day when you are time cruched. check it out man, it is well worth it in the long runTGBSupplements REP

Re: Intra-Workout Worth it?
i have been using chaos and pain mercury recently. it's a bcaa/carb blend. not sure if it has anything else in it, i think it may but i forget. i like it a lot. it makes a big difference, and i was a huge skeptic. i have read that leucine is better than bcaa's tho, so i'm on the lookout for something with leucine and carbs, if possible.

Re: Intra-Workout Worth it?
Thanks guys you gave me some great options. Going to look into those suggested and probably give it a go. Lot's of good science behind the intra-workout as well."You don't know how strong you are until strong is your only option."

I dont use an intraworkout now, but when I was in high school, I used to carry a bottle of milk with me in the gym lol I remember my gym teacher asking me what the hell I was doing with a bottle of milk in the gym. I told him "My muscles need the protein!"

Re: Intra-Workout Worth it?
Necessary? Not 100%.
Worth while? Yes.
I've used iForce's Compete intra-workout for as long as it was released and love the inclusion of the electrolytes and other goodies like carnitines. I sweat more when I use it and can definitely push more from my workouts.
Prior to that I'd used just BCAA products and home made mixes; this has been my go-to ever since.
Tempted to use ANS's Amino-HP intra, but I'm still set on Compete but have been using the Amino-HP first thing upon rising since I lift fasted and that's really helped with muscle preservation during the cut and also not feeling super weak without any food (since I hadn't lifted fasted in about 8 years LOL).
