  • IIFYM VS. A Diet written by a coach.. Macros Question

Alright guys so here is my main question. I follow Mike Rashid, Jeff Seid, Bostin Lloyd, Piana and some others on youtube and i do spend alot of time reading forums and websites and stuff and ive just come across so much info now that my head is spinning. Im the type of person that over thinks things sometimes and here is my dilemma. Ive really got my lifting and AAS use down perfect but im just not that confident in my diet yet.

I went to IIFYM.com and plugged in my info and it gave me my macros and cals for a day for what i should shoot for if im trying to gain muscle. Is that site a good place to start? I have an ifbb pro at my gym who will write me a diet but is it worth it to shell out the money for that?

Right now im 3100 cals a day roughly 220pro close to 300 carb give or take some days where ill eat 50-75 more carbs it just depends. To break it down even more i do 30-40 grams pro and 40-50 grams carbs per meal and im at six meals a day. I dont measure or count healthy fats at all, should i be?

What do you guys think? Should i have this guy write me a diet or do what ive been doing. This current cycle has been awesome so far im just getting stagnant i upped my EQ but my test is the same.

I had a guy write me up a plan don't regret it at all taught me a lot and I was in the best shape of my life with it as far as eating wise and looking good. sometimes an outsider will help your goals .

It's worth the cash I have to have my diet updated a few times per year the more u weigh the more u need food wise upping ur gear won't do it alone.

Roger that, ill report back with what he says. I contacted another ifbb coach in the area and he wants 200 the first month and 100 for each following month for diet. Maybe those prices were including training too but that seems like alot..

their is a basic metabolic calculator on here. you can punch in your numbers and it will give you your maint cal level then percentages to increase mass or decrease fat at the rate you want. iifym is a great plan and approach for some everyday joe that is just looking to hit numbers and get into realtively good shape. i know people say a carb is a carb and all that blah blah and some people out there can eat pretty much anything and still get into great shape but the vast majority of us normal people can not.

what i did when i started out many many years ago is i did my first run with a coach, then did my next two runs solo and then onto another more modern coach. then i did a bunch of research and took what i learned from them and what i learned and then started tweaking things around each time. i finally came to a process that works great for me and the vast majority of people that i work with. best idea you can have is to work with a couple people (follow what they say to the t or else who knows what works) and then tweak it up to do what you want it to.

search your coaches man. if they dont ask you what you can and cant eat, what you like and dont like, if you are allergic to something, if something bloats you etc....... then they are a shitty coach. no questionaire or at least some initial questions should be a huge indicator. also i would always do some serious research on whoever it was. i know of a pair of coaches in my area that have done 1 show each and they are training and doing plans for people that would absolutely blow your mind. sad fact is neither of them have ever won anything or even look all that great. research and ask whomever it is if they can provide refs. hell most of them have them already listed with before and afters haha
