    Re: Meals vs. Shakes

And fish doesnt thin the skin lol. When you are at such low levels of fat % there is almost nothing between the skin and your muscle hence the thin skin look. When you get a good pump it stretches making it look thin. Someone was probably on a low carb diet using fish and was like wow my skin looks thin. must be the fish. That's how broscience began

      Re: Meals vs. Shakes

I do not think shakes are bad but it really depends what you put in them. You can get all the nutrients you need from a shake. When we eat/chew food you are gettingant enzymes by "chewing" to aid in digestion and proper absorption of nutrients. Mos people do not chew their food to the most digestible state(which is to chew till the food becomes in a somewhat liquid form).

I do agree that it is better to eat meals, but if one does hae digestive issues, shakes may be easier for them to digest. One example is with myself. My tummy likes it much better when I throw fresh spinach in my shake rather than chew it in a meal.

have to do what works for best nd again, moderation.

Now we know that some elderly people have their meals pureed tey can eat and get proper nutrition. There are a reasons for this , one being they have no teeth to chew, other is they have a hard time digesting food

I only weigh 180 so im just not huge enough to be grubbin out like a madman all day. Im trying though

i am going to allude to this theory a little bit about skin. some people have very thick skin and some have very very thin skin. people you see with nasty veins and crazy detail even when they arent thin are blessed with natural thin skin. now certain foods will make your skin thicker and much denser. the number one culprit for myself and lots of other people is diary products and beef comes in a close second. even fat free will keep the skin much more dense. now fish wont change your genetics but it will expedite the process of tightening it down and make it look "thin". you can do the same thing with chicken(i cant) egg whites and turkey. i have even known people that no matter what they ate or how lean they got they still couldnt get that nasty paper thin skin grainy look. genetics and what you consume will be the ultimate factor in your skin

I think most people eveeyrwhere only use shakes as a supplement to their meals.. if thye dont get enough take a shake..... and if u really wana pack on the lbs u cant eat a cow u need the protein supplements to get you there end of story.. I would rather eat food over shakes anyday, but they become necessary

Thats funny, i just watched both of those videos. I use to hate Lobliner but he is really smart and ill always listen to someone more advanced than me. Lobliner says that protein powder is ALWAYS a better option than regular food because its got alot more important ingredients and aminos and better digesting protein, If you listen to piana he says the complete opposite. IMO real food will always be better than powder, back in the day there wasnt powder that avail like it is today so naturally the guys ate real food. I eat three oatmeal/pro shakes a day and three real food meals per day. Its all about conveinence and what works with your schedule each day.

In my experience it really cuts down on hunger when eating whole foods. I stick to a shake after my workouts but other than that it's whole foods the rest of the day. Some people may not have that option being on the run all day. Just be sure to have the right amount of carbs with it

                      Re: Meals vs. Shakes

I think what rich is trying to elude to is that especially with the amino spiking scam that's going on, do you know exactly how many grams of protein you're getting? The label claims 25g but in all actuality you could only be getting 15g. So you're getting 10 less grams a scoop. Multiply that by the 5 or 6 1 scoop shakes you drink for convenience and you're missing out on roughly 90g of protein.

Instead of eating real food all day and accounting for every single gram of protein that you need. If you need 200g of protein a day and you're missing 90g....that's almost half....good luck on the gainz at this point.
