  • SOY PROTEIN ISOLATE

Anyone used this with good results for muscle mass ? I thought i'd ask since I have an MRP called Macrobolic -from MHP , that has soy , calcium caseinate , whey protein concentrate, etc ... there's so much debate which protein is best to ingest at whatever time to achieve your goals such as whey protein isolate is supposed to be best after a workout and milk protein during the day between meals . Personally , in the past iv'e gained musclemass using milk protein after a workout or between meals so is it all hype or what ? I would like to make an intelligent decision what's best for me to achieve my goals .

I dont know much about it. Was always afraid to take soy after reading somewhere it can affect estrogen levels. Not sure if thats a fact or not. Its good to take different types of protein though imo

I have used soy in the past. I do pefer whey but use soy when it is all I have. The estrogen sides are really almost non existent, so use it if you want

I think you are fine with it. It isn't all soy based anyway. Don't forget to purchase it at TGB..they have the best prices/ t/a and customer service you will find. Use code 'baby1' for an extra $5 off your order

TGB also carries Chocolate Fudge flavor too

i personally would say to stay away from soy. whey beef egg and milk proteins are far superior to soy. i too have always been told to avoid soy due to its ability to increase estrogen activity in men. even if it is only a slight increase combining that with other supps could make a difference. think of it this way and this just come to mind: when you look at most diet plans for bbing and comp purposes plant proteins arent counted toward your daily protein goals for a reason. that is for bbing and physique goals and not so much for lifestyle goals

Just stick with real food except for postworkout and before bed. Whey digests the fastest for post workout and casien stays around the longest for pre-bed shakes, thats all you will ever need protein wise.

great advice and if you don't want to bother with the casein, have your whey with a nut butter or good fat and that will help slow the digestion of protein as casein does

                  Re: SOY PROTEIN ISOLATE

I've always avoided soy. I personally over my "gym" career have wasted copious amount of money on shakes. Actually probably developing a mental crutch.

Recently in past year I have developed a bad dairy allergy which has limited my shake consumption. The only thing I drink is a egg white shake in the am with oats and a banana and post workout iso100 whey which is a hydrolyzed whey that I seem to handle much better.

In a year I have not lost any mass or strength and saved a ton of money! Like animal said stick with real food!
