I am going to do the Sprint 8s (which is a form of HIIT) on my road when it warms up. Or maybe at the local football field.

I agree with james about keeping from dropping the carbs too low. That's fuel. Protein is too, but think of carbs as fuel. One way to do it is really dig into the fiber carbs for those extra few. They don't sit heavy at all, but you'll curve an appectite and fuel your body without the complex carb result.
What would you guys say is too low for carbs? What are the best sources of fiber?

Cool. I got some oatmeal at home and brown rice too, but i didn't add it into todays stuff. When I get home, I will add them to my fitday to see what numbers I come up with. We also have whole wheat pastas at home. When is the best time to eat these particular items?

Also, I ordered some Hydroxycut for my wife and she wanted me to take them with her, so I will have those within a few days.....I know, I know, fat burners aren't the problem solver, but i think my diet will take care of what I want to do. I am just going to take these to kind of push and motivate her.

Carb count is per individual. An easy way I've always went by is just the ratios per body weight. 3g carbs per lb of body weight to grow. Like a 3/2; 3g carbs/ 2g protein per lb. And shift as needed. 1g/2g to trim down. 1g carbs per lb and 2g protein per lb of body weight.
Your carb sources are on an individual basis too. But you can really paint everybody with the same brush on carbs without splitting hairs. Your fiber carbs are veggies, clean salads. These aren't going to put weight on you if kept clean of cheeses, seasonings, sour creams, (stuff with loaded with fat) And then your complex carbs are great for bulking. You want to keep those clean as well. You have pastas, potatoes, breads, beans. Same thing with these. You want to keep it clean. Clean pasta. That doesn't mean you can't have sauce. Just choose your sauces well. Keep your potatoes clean. No real butter soaked, cheesed out, loaded taters. You can reach your goal by training, and getting your carbs to grow so long as you keep it clean. Very clean. Get your lean meat by the lb every meal. Get your shakes in too. But you train hard. train hard, eat hard, and you'll sleep hard. Your body will thank you. It'll start running like a champ.
We train pretty hard. We weight train 5 days a week and I am going to be doing abs and cardio the other two. So there will be some kind of training every day. And we go pretty hard in the gym too. We will see. I still have my before pics posted and I will add to them maybe at the end of this month to compare.

i wouldn't start that high on cardio, bro. there are only two ways to create fat loss and it's through cardio or lower cal diets. i would like to see you keep the carbs were they are rather then drop them at this point. i believe in starting as high as you can with cals and as little cardio as possible and adjust each week as needed. if you time your cabs correctly during the day and eat mostly complex you should be great. however, simple sugar is not too bad breakfast and post workout. i'll usually have frozen fruit in my morning shake.... yummy! post workout is aftershock
carbs are very different from person to person, but are a very important part of diet when it comes to how much and when. just start where you planned or even add a bit of brown rice or oatmeal and go from there. you will need those carbs on leg and back day for sure.
as for cardio, i would do HIIT like you wrote but start at 30 min sessions rather then 60. i too like to treadmil on incline but i vary the incline every 3 min. put that thing on 15 and your calves will grow!! just don't lean back hlding on, cuz that negates the incline, lol. also, give yourself room in both diet and training to adjust for how you feel and for the goal. a competition diet doesn't start on rock bottom cals and 60 mins or 2 a day cardio for a reason..... although mine do cuz i cheat too much on my diet, lol.

spread your cabs out from breakfast until about 5.... but depending on when you train and go to sleep. if i eat 6 meals i'll do 4 with complex carbs... it works out to last solid meal is protein//fat/fiber and before bed is protein shake with oil added.

so, i agree with james... lol.
30 minute sessions sound better to me...haha! I hate cardio. I will enjoy the HIIT more once the weather breaks and I can do it outside.
Thanks for the input guys....and keep it coming. I am finally learning some stuff...lol!

Yeah, I don't like cardio so I was trying to lose with a calorie deficit...lol! Whatever works now though. How did you figure up your maintenance? I went by a formula on here and it came out to 2991 and then I originally dropped 500 below that and didn't see a whole lot of results, so then I came up with this one.
It could be that I just started lifting again in October and the "newb" muscle gain has canceled out any fat loss, I don't know.
the formula isn't built for YOU, but only a tool to get you a start and i use them too. you're doing it perfect... starting and adjusting as you go.
