  • Canned tuna

Just picked up some tune for me and the tune juice for the cat. I haven't really had tuna in awhile and I have always heard to eat it in moderation due to high mercury content. I purchased the best quality one, the store had, and it tastes good. Who eats tune on a regular basis here?

    Re: Canned tuna

i used to eat up to 14 cans a day back when it was dirt cheap and i was super poor. great source of cheap protein back then for me.

with your cat and i know you have already most likely did it, but look to see if their are any preservatives tossed in there that it cant have. that would be my biggest concern

Good reminder, thanks guns. I believe it was just wild caught tuna and water but can things usually do have preservatives. I can tell you that the kitty really loves this but she cant have much of this at all. This was $2.99 a can so it wasnt cheap

          Re: Canned tuna

i eat it 1X a week. i love albacore but it has almost 3X the mercury of regular tuna if I am not mistaken.

          "Mercury
Albacore tuna contains more mercury than chunk light tuna. If you are pregnant or nursing, or planning to become pregnant, you should limit your intake of fish high in mercury; you can safely consume just one 6-ounce serving of albacore tuna or 12 ounces of chunk light tuna per week, according to the FDA."
"SHIAT BIOTCH, thats a big ass!"

I eat the hell out of it because its easy and cheap. How many of us are really following the FDA advice? lets face it most of us are taking in far worst then eating to much tuna right. From Food, AAS, supps,
or to much tuna/fish. Everybody should understand/ask them self is risk worth the reward in this game.

                  Re: Canned tuna

I eat a lot of it to. Sometimes I mix it with salsa (no added suger, etc) and scope it with a good pretzel but most of the time right out of the can.

if the heavy metal issue was true completely, i would shrink when it got cold and get huge when it got hot. i literally would eat 12-14 cans day in and day out back in the day. i think they make a lot of shit up to move markets. they do the same thing with beef and poultry and i dont trust dick that comes from the fda

My fav way to eat tuna is mash up an avocado and mix in the tuna with salt and lemon pepper. it is GREAT!
