  • Organic veggies and fruits

I stick to buying organic produce. I feel it is worth the extra money, and I definitely notice a better tasting food. I happened to pick up a bag of red skinned non organic potatoes, because they were out of my usual. Our daughter said they tasted different, and I completely agree. If I am not able to find organic, I stick with frozen veggies and cook them on the stove top. While I don't feel organic means 100% no chemicals,I feel there are less. I refer back to this list, often, for guidance. Thoughts?

The group identified the following items on its “Dirty Dozen” list of produce with the most pesticide residue: (2017)
    1. Strawberries
    2. Spinach
    3. Nectarines
    4. Apples
    5. Peaches
    6. Celery
    7. Grapes
    8. Pears
    9. Cherries
    10. Tomatoes
    11. Sweet bell peppers
    12. Potatoes

The group also identifies the “Clean 15” or items in the report with the least likelihood to contain pesticide residue:
    1. Sweet corn
    2. Avocados
    3. Pineapples
    4. Cabbage
    5. Onions
    6. Frozen sweet peas
    7. Papayas
    8. Asparagus
    9. Mangoes
    10. Eggplant
    11. Honeydew
    12. Kiwifruit
    13. Cantaloupe
    14. Cauliflower
    15. Grapefruit

i almost entirely stick to red potatoes in my diet baby1. way better gi range and they have some really good stuff in them.

as for organic, if you can opt for it hit a farmer's market when you can. that's the best way to know that you probably arent getting cheated out of your money. i can tell you that sweet potatoes red potatoes and a few other things we get from a farmer buddy of ours taste much different than organic store bought do. on a rip up north here a while back we found an area loaded with open farms with everything under the sun from meat to produce. so i will be eating some good stuff when i trek back up that way again

Really don''t have any farms near us but when the Farmers Market is in season I like to visit there. The organic, from the stores still taste better then the regular

I just wash everything well with dawn dishsoap and 10% vinegar. I read a pubmed article that this will remove 95%+ of pesticides and even germs like e coli.

even though these are "dirty" they still have very little pesticide residue on them. but I would like as close to zero as possible.
