  • friggin chest injury

Ahhh man just when your in the best shape of your life...

Incline bench on a smith...fifth set in life's going great 315 for 8 reps...Then right pec feels like a real bad calve cramp during mid rep and miliseconds later it feels like a painful ass super muscle twitch (again I'm midrep to almost lockout). I racked it and immediately felt so nauseated I waited and watched in mirror or blood, purple, any sign. I stopped did abs for a moment but the pain didn't go away and I had no strength. I called it a day, went home asap and iced, ibprophen, DMSO with arnica...got a couple of those in to day. My chest was definitely swollen. About 6 hours I've got dark black quarter size raised circle forming at top of chest where insertion is under front delt. It doesn't hurt there but where swelling is mid chest but towards outside of pec.

My girl is nurse practitioner says nothing can be done it didn't rip bad enough for surgery so no reason to go to docs. What do you guys think. I'm so pissed and depressed. I've never had a chest issue in decades of training.

    I will attach a pic.

you have a tear my friend, go see a doc and get an mri. you can already see a little dent by the insertion point. they may be able to fix it if you need it fixed. i would also try to get it rehabbed if it isnt fixable just to make sure you dont fully detach it. cool thing about an injury like this is you should be able to train everything else with no issue and be back training chest within a month. i had a partial tear myself in the exact same spot from an ied blast. well i fully tore it about a year after the partial tear. i was back training in 3 wks. docs told me their was nothing that could have been done to prevent mine because it was already damaged and unfixable. so go get it checked out and do your rehab so you dont end up like me haha

oh man, injury sucks. a small tear will heal on it's on but it may be worth seeing if it is bad like guns said. i feel for ya brother.

Ouch! That looks painful. Hopefully your specialist tells you its not as bad as it looks and you can be back to training in a few weeks. Wish you well.

Hoping for a micro tear but who knows. I have full range of motion and pain is tolerable. Guess we will know tomorrow well maybe lol.

This is good to hear and hopefully means it is very small. Its best to check it out though and glad you are bypassing the general docs and going right to the surgeon. Let us know how it goes and sending positive vibes to you

Here's what it looks like today. I have full range of motion. I'm curious to see what my surgeon says today. My ladies an internal medicine nurse practitioner and she thinks they won't do surgery but I want confirmation. I don't want to wreck it worse a year from from now.

def is getting worse but it always gets worse before it gets better. see what the doc says and I wouldn't jump on surgery right away even if he suggests it but that's just my opinion and without some sort of MRI, it is hard to even tell
