  • Has fast food become worse for our health in the past 30 years?

Researchers warn that, despite some efforts from fast-food chains to improve their menus, what they offer is probably more harmful to health than ever.

No doubt its way worse than 20 - 30 years ago. Now you can buy a triple decker cheeseburger with bacon and eggs on top of the beef, with onions rings & potato chips on top of that, all on one hamburger

Man ain't that the truth. I used to go to Hardee's allllll the time and get that monster thick burger. Once twice a week I'd get that thing. 2/3 pound of beef...three slices of cheese and six slices of bacon.
I feel so much better since I stopped that....but once a month...my cheat day...I usually end up there haha

what's wrong with that. i call that customizing my burgers haha. in all reality i dont think it is so much that it has gotten any better or worse as much as it is that people now dont move around as much. think about this: back 20-30 years ago people cooked with lard and a host of other nasty shit. the difference then was both that people moved around a hell of a lot more for one and 2 fast food was a treat and not consumed as much. now it's a daily habit with far less activity. take a look around you. people will seek the easiest way out all the while having their face in a phone or device barely moving. that's the issue more so than the food they consume

I remember growing up and my dad coming home from work with a big sack of about 20 hamburgers. That was dinner many times.

I was thinking the same thing. I remember fast food being something we did on the weekends, occasionally during the week when my folks were busy, etc... I know families now that have fast food almost every night for dinner and a lot of times at lunch too. Guy I know at work picks something up for breakfast on the way in, grabs a burger or something quick for lunch and then stops somewhere on the way home for dinner. That's 3 drive through meals a day sometimes. I know it's cheap and easy when life is so hectic, but that's a lot of crap to consume. I would say most of them live a mostly sedentary life as well. That's just a recipe for disaster.

Here is the thing, nobody thinks fastfood is healthy. When you eat a double 5 guys burger with cheese and get the cajun fries with it. You know this is not a healthy option. (I had this for lunch yesterday)

I am tired of people having studies that say this or that about fast food. WE KNOW FOLK!

HAHAHA, y'all do to. Everybody knows a burgerking whopper, fries and a shake is not as good for you as grilled salmon, half a sweet potato and a kale salad. Intellectual honesty.

that was my point jipped. you and i are old enough to remember people cooking with lard fat back etc..... and those people damn near always lived forever and then some. never used sun block smoked like a chimney and most likely drank some illegal spirits as well. hum the food regulations changed to be healthier but no one got healthier.

i like you point man. we dont need money spent on things we already know to be fact lol. it sure does taste good though
