I'm on my first bulk cycle. Gear related that is. Running deca and test. Almost at week 6. Anyway I stretch and warm up every day before training but at about week 2 of this whenever I did bench press I started getting these aches during lifting. And its increased week by week every chest day. Its increased as my strength has gone up. It feels almost exactly like growing pains. Remember when you were a kid and it felt like your bones were stretching as you grew? Its like that. It goes from my shoulders down to my forearms. Its in the muscle, bone, tendons, etc in waves of pain. Now its to the point where after I'm done with my bench presses I can't finish the rest of my chest workouts. At first I thought it was a kind of pump from the dbol I kickstarted with but I've been off that for awhile now. Its pretty discouraging since I really want to get to pressing 300lbs again but it seems the more weight I put on the bar the worse this gets. I have no problems with any other compounds like deadlifts and I'm breaking PR with them. Anybody else experience this? Not that you guys are doctors or maybe some of you are. I wanted to bring it up to my doctor today during my checkup but I know he will just say slow down. Perhaps he would be right?

Re: pain on bench days
I don't know. I beat myself up regularly and end up with the trial and error process. I would change grip locations and rotate weights to try to isolate the exact spots. also if using gloves I would stop, visa versa. its all trial and error brother would also go and hit only heavy dumbells a few weeks .
also I have found rest important ,like not hitting shoulders or back real heavy the day before, that could stress out your muscles and joints also.. all kinds of things I would go through. good luck

Re: pain on bench days
ya I found I was in a lot more pain if I did heavy workouts without resting enough. I also get less injurys that way. like heavy chest tri one week heavy back bies the next or giving a two day break at minimum between heavy work outs everyone is different so just feel it out don't get fusterated youll find what work faster than you think butha. my strength and size is always based 100% with diet but the pain and push took me a bit to figure out.. good luck

Re: pain on bench days
Cool thanks man. I guess I figured I couldn't overtrain while on cycle but all signs are pointing that way. I've even lost some reps on military press but didn't think anything of it. Ill try to go about it in a more human way maybe that will help lol

Re: pain on bench days
this happens to me occasionally, and you described it to the t. honestly though theres not much you can do about it other than maybe what was previously suggested. i have had to quit my chest workouts bc of the deep pain in my forearms. this also has happened on biceps as well. the thing that sucks the most about it is when you start getting into your routine and hitting those awesome lifts the pain just shoots in once you put the weight down and throbs. on chest maybe try adjusting your lift, a lot of people put the elbows straight out, but to properly execute good form the elbows/arms should be angle inward slightly. if your not doing this already, try it and it see if this helps. i corrected my lift about a year/year and a half ago and havent noticed any pain.

Re: pain on bench days
That's another very possible reason too man. I'm working with a bench that's too small for me. A standard. I have a home gym with dumbbells, bench, bunch of weight, pullup bar, etc and I cut a corner by going with a standard bench when I'm used to olympic because I wanted to save dome cash. Its awkward to get my positioning right on it while benching its like its width is built for a teenager so that could very well be the problem. Matter of fact I'm willing to bet the technique is the root of this thanks for bringing that up. I'm gonna try sliding further down it so I can get positioned right and make sure my elbows are in a good position. That would explain why my shoulders are getting messed up and painful and maybe even why my military and behind neck presses are starting to suffer. I could be quickly coming up on an injury unless I fix this. Thanks 1000 times bro. And to everyone else too.

Re: pain on bench days
This came as a blessing in disguise. I checked my form and had my elbows flared out a litte to wide but my bench was too narrow to get a nice wide grip on it. So I decided to give benching a break an focus on dips and pushups. The very next day my bench snapped in half! Out of nowhere I wasnt even on it. If I had been bench pressing the bar probably would have came crashing down on me. You guys saved my life by having me questioning my technique lol thank you! Now gotta buy a good quality olympic bench

Re: pain on bench days
ever think about doing bench last in your training to lesen the weights used. a pre fatigue type of deal? this works very well with people that have issues with pain doing heavy bench press. pre exhausting will also ensure that you are very warmed up prior to hitting bench also. just a thoughtTGBSupplements REP
