That was a skewed study that caused Health Canada to take it off the market. The FDA evaluated it and decided to keep it in the US.

Also it is going to be used again in Canada before too long, they realize that it's not as dangerous as once thought.

Straterra has much lower success with patients who actually have ADD/ADHD for the most part. It seems it works in some, and has either no effect or adverse effect on others.

For those that actually have ADD, the medication is very beneficial. I made it through college and a year of professional school without it, but I finally got tests (by a psychiatrist and a clinical psychologist) and got the medication and it is a tremendous help. It's amazing to be able to zone in on one particular issue and not be distracted at the drop of a hat.

ADD basically causes a disreprancy between your intelligence and performance abilities. You can be at the 100th percentile for intelligence but then only measure at 92nd percentile for performance.

      Byron,

Got to amazon.com and order a few books on the subject. Educate yourself.

GP is right, if you don't have it and have done zero research on the subject your advice is really more harmful than good.

It's a serious issue, and your best bet is to find professionals who specialize in it.

IMHO, I'd tend to agree you have mild-add, that is based on how you've posted and the actions that you take.

You are very smart, dedicated, fun loving guy, lotsa good stuff about you.

You are EXTRMELY impulsive, and alot of these impulsive decisions cause you major major problems. When your young and full of energy, energy will trump all the problems you create with the impulsiveness, as you get older and the habit of impulsiveness is more ingrained and hard to break, potential for bigger problems loom.

Get a good counselor and take care of it now, it's not that bad overall, and a great learning experience.

Besides the impulsivenss you have great tendency to Project Wayt Too Much into the future, ie, girlfriend going on shoot posts, those were not ver reality based, yet, you were extremely emotionally involved with the potential for future pain, which influences your impulsivenss.

IMHO I think you're very smart to do something about it. You won't regret it.
