The seeming contradiction over how Adam Lanza could have used a Bushmaster version AR-15 rifle in the shootings when that same weapon was supposedly found locked in the trunk of his car afterwards was cleared up a few days later. The weapon found in the trunk of Lanza's car was a shotgun, not an AR-15:

State police seized four guns when they responded to the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown in December, according to state police.

Police [said they had[ provided details in [previous] news conferences but wanted to eliminate any confusion or misinformation.

Police said they found a Bushmaster .223 caliber model XM15-E2S rifle with high capacity 30 round clips, a Glock 10-mm handgun and a Sig-Sauer P226 9mm handgun inside the school.

Police identified Adam Lanza as the gunman who shot and killed 20 first graders and six staff members.

Police also searched Lanza’s car, which was in parking lot, and found an Izhmash Canta-12 12-gauge shotgun.
The medical examiner was therefore correct, not mistaken, when he stated that the rifle was the primary weapon used in the shootings.

This is some great rebuttal man.I love how snopes explains why the parents would or could be laughing while being interviewed.Their explanation to this is that we are just being shown snippets of video and we have no idea what they are laughing about and in fact could be laughing about something that was unrelated to this tragedy and that they would be walking around moping all day!! Tell you what..............THATS THE BIGGEST HORSESHIT IVE EVER HEARD!!!!

I am a father and let me tell what,if my kids were gunned down that day or days or even weeks later I wouldnt be laughing at ANYTHING FUKIN THING while being interveiwed about it!!! What kind of bullshit excuse is that???? Im being interviewed about my kid being killed by some nut case shooting them and im laughing at something else?????

I read the b/s man and if you watch the police recovering the "rifle" from the trunk you can clearly see its not a shotgun.Sounded good though.Just their statements.Unfortunately it doesnt change the actual footage.

I posted info about research about grief and laughter is very common. Yes I am a parent, and even though I find it weird that they would be laughing, I'm not going to all of a sudden buy into some crazy elaborate conspiracy.
I remember my grandfather dying and the entire weekend was filled w crying and laughter.

I remember my grandfather dying and the entire weekend was filled w crying and laughter.

We have parents laughing, which is very common among people grieving, and we have cops supposedly saying they took the wrong gun out of the trunk. From this we immediately become convinced that its a huge conspiracy? Wow, just wow!
