Yeah, he didn't make a good case for him being the "next big thing." Most people are now saying that he is ducking Sonnen after talking the crap about him. I mean, he was already ready for the same type fight. Sonnen for sure would have had the tougher side of the situation. Not only did he turn the fight down, but by doing so, they had to cancel the PPV....which is more the UFCs fault than Jones'.
Then they schedule Machida, who said he didn't want the fight yet. So now it's Vitor. Vitor can KO Jones....and if he does, it will be detrimental to Jones' rep. Losing to Machida or Sonnen would have been a much better thing than losing to Vitor.

I will say that I used the word "more" when I said it was more the UFC's fault. That was poorly chosen. It was mostly Jones' fault, no doubt!!!! But I still think the UFC can be blamed as well for the PPV being canceled. So yeah, I was wrong saying it was more their fault. Personally, I don't fault Jones at all. Henderson is a different fighter than Sonnen. How can you train months to fight a guy with an orthodox stance, then in 8 days change it around for a South paw? Both are great ground guys, but Sonnen I believe is better. This is how Bones makes a living. Why would he risk going out and fighting a guy he didn't train properly for, potentially lose his title, and take a big dent in his paycheck? Here's an idea, how about Dana White suit up and fight Sonnen? Why get all pissed off about lost revenues? If he loves the sport so much, save it by suiting up! Jones is the worlds best at 205. chael is a 185# fighter that has never held the belt.
he should have taken the fight.
1. he has way better standup than chael.
2. he has great wrestling.
3. is much bigger.
4. chael would be taking the fight on 8 days notice so his cardio would be suspect
5. he has had a full camp
6. he calls himself the best in the world
i bet if they called nate diaz, he would have fight chael. jones is a *****. i do fault him. a champ should step up to any challenger. to save the day. dana said jones is rich, the other guys now loose their paychecks due to his fear of a smaller challenger.
i think sonnen is a nut but i have 100% respect for a guy that will take a fight on short notice let alone one with a guy 20# bigger. big balls"SHIAT BIOTCH, thats a big ass!"

Now think about this....WHEN Jones does fight Sonnen, he will have to fight a fresh, prepared, and extra motivated Sonnen. If he wanted to destroy Chael, he just missed the perfect chance.
Instead, he has pissed off the UFC, what little fans that he had, his fellow fighters, etc...... He went from being the "next big star" to being a HUGE douche almost instantly. Not to mention it makes him look like he was scared to death to chance Sonnen.

why do you think he will win against chael.Chael made a mistake in the silva 2nd fight and beat the snot out of silva again in the 1st round but his mistake cost him the fight. But you think jones would walk through chael you dont know that. Bottom line he is now a black eye with the company as jipped said jones is a puzzy. If you are talking to me, I would be pulling for Chael to win. I can't stand Jones!! One thing that hasn't really been mentioned is this....no one is pointing fingers at Dan. Dan tore his ACL 2 weeks before the fight and didn't tell Dana. Once Dana got wind of it, he made Dan go to the UFC doctors to protect the PPV and the UFC doctors would not clear Dan to fight.
So now Dana has finally come out and said that if Dan had told him about his knee right after he hurt it, then the PPV would not have been cancelled.
