This fight must have been so close that it could have went either way for Dana to give an immediate rematch.

“It’s crazy, but…I was thinking about it after the fight,” said White in an interview with MMAJunkie. “People are *****ing, and people think that was close…we could do that fight again before GSP comes back.”

However, White isn’t ready to force Condit into an immediate rematch with Diaz nor does he know if Diaz has any interest in continuing his MMA career based on his post-fight statements about retirement.

“It depends on Carlos, too. Carlos has got to say – and Nick’s got to say, ‘I want to fight him again,’ too,” White explained.

Could be but PPV buys have been down and I'm sure this one wasn't a big earner. So trying to resale a low buy event would be on the dumb side.


With that being said, if I were Condit, I would say HELL NO!! To a rematch. I have never liked the immediate rematches...ever. I just don't see it. If you don't like judges' decisions, don't let it go to the judges. If a guy loses definitively, then it's done...(for example, Sonnen and Anderson 1). Work your way back up if you want a rematch. That's always been my take on it.

Condit may not have fought like everyone expected, but he implemented a game plan that won. The guy deserves credit.

WHEN YOU ARE A FIGHTER, YOU STUDY YOUR OPPONENT AND YOU DONT LET HIM GET HIS GAME PLAN OFF ON YOU. THATS WHAT CARLOS DID. ITS NOT A BAD THING, HE JUST PROVED NICK CAN BE BEAT BY NOT LETTING HIM GET INTO YOUR FACE. STICK AND MOVE.

NOW ITS A MIND GAME/WAIT FOR CARLOS...DOES HE WAIT FOR GSP OR DOES HE FIGHT ONE INBETWEEN TIME AND RISK LOSING HIS SHOT AT THE CHAMPIONSHIP? IF HES A TRUE FIGHTER AND TRUE CHAMP MATERIAL - ONE FIGHT SHOULD NOT WORRY, HE SHOULD BE ABLE TO BEAT THEM AND BE READY FOR GSP. ITS A GAMBLE EITHER WAY IN MMA. ANY DAY ANY ONE CAN BE BEAT.
