With the return of IVC, I would love to see the unified rules allow the headbutt. You would see less pulling guard, less leaning against the cage, and no more damage than heavy knees. The headbutt is a great close in tool. It also makes me wonder how much the Gracie's, who brought MMA to America, had to do with putting together unified rules. BJJ artists do not like the headbutt at all. Can you imagine giving somebody like Jon Jones or nick Diaz another weapon to develop. I don't think it will ever happen, because of the need to appeal to mainstream America, it's so primal and ugly when somebody gets knocked out with a big old head.

i dont know. its just so damn dirty. the biggest prob would be with A.C.s it appears barbaric and so it must be.
i say remove the elbows to the head of a downed guy and add knees to a grounded opponent.
pulling guard is not the problem. wrestlers are the problem, holding guys down but not doing any damage in the attacks. jake shields, jon fitch ect.........."SHIAT BIOTCH, thats a big ass!"

I'm getting soft in my old age, I think headbutts would phuck people up to much
