I think it was a combination of 2 things... His crap performance and his lack of going out there and giving it a fight like everyone expected.. and that he hasnt done shit in the UFC for a while.. he can go fight for Strikefarce

UFC to cut Houston Alexander following "Kimbo Slice" loss

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Houston Alexander faltered when it mattered most, and now the UFC veteran will soon receive his walking papers from the organization.

UFC president Dana White today told a small group of reporters at the UFC 107 pre-event press conference that Alexander, who recently dropped a lackluster unanimous decision to Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson, has been cut from the UFC.

MMAjunkie.com has since confirmed the process hasn't been completed but soon will be.

I think it was obvious that this was coming. I mean Houston was on a losing streak. Dana let him fight in another organization for some tune up fights. Then he lets him come back and he drops the fight with Kimbo in which he didn't even bang it out. He needs to be canned. Dana was trying to do him a favor because of all of his kids, but Houston shot himself in the foot with that game plan against Kimbo.

Kimbo wont stand a chance with heavyweights... if he can somehow cut down some muscle to stay at 205 and up his cardio.. he will have a shot at winning a few fights, but he's still a novelty act..

Having said that, I am still a fan and would pay to see him fight.. that mess of the 1st round wsnt his fault.. alexander pulled the Calib Starnes act, and I guarantee if he hasnt yet, will be dropped by the UFC this week

Catch weight at like 215, I think. Kimbo said that the weight cut was VERY bad!! I would be willing to bet that he doesn't do that again. And that is not good because I don't think he will last with the bigger guys.

and that is MMA MIXED MARTIAL ARTS what part of that is hard to understand,you make no sense in that statement. But like you said you could of got that rear choke in but like you said you have no mma experience but then again you say you do so tell us which is it. Now lets talk about 3rd graders

I boxed when I was like 16. I did Muay Thai a little from a guy that knew it in my BJJ class. I have never trained specifically for MMA...there IS a difference. BJJ is what I trained in the longest. Muay THai wasn't long at all....I woulnd't even consider me even knowing that

his standup was not as robotic as before so thats good. But a HW with a decent to good ground game would submit him in a matter of minutes i believe. I like Kimbo, think he is funny and nice and stuff, just dont think he has the drive or the time and health to make a run at a decent career. I would be happy to see him beat a solid HW though, just dont really see it happening. Have to wait and see i guess. Im sure they will try to get him to fight again soon.

I will say this about Kimbo..when he went in for the kill this time, he looked quicker than he used to be as far as punching speed. he also looked very patient expecially with Houston running circles around him. So I will chalk those up as improvements. Is that better?

I guess Kimbo looked more fluid on his feet? Houston screwed the fight up by running around, that was stupid. He should have just walked in and swung for the fences like usual. Kimbo got Houston on the ground but was fairly clueless as what to do next with the exception of a few elbows. However, the unorthodox body slams will prob not work against guys 30-50lbs heavier. Overall not sure cause he fought someone lighter but at least he tried to take someone down. I guess thats improvement? I def thought Houston would win though so I will be interested to see what Kimbo does next. I wonder if he actually has something wrong with his knee, as in something that could be surgically fixed? Maybe he should look into that. A HW with good leg kicks could finish him right away if Houstons wimpy kicks were really bothering him that much. Could spell trouble.

On the show the Dr. said the cartilage was gone in his knee, I am pretty sure. I don't think there is a way to fix that. I agree. A HW will eat that knee up. Houston looked like he just learned to throw kicks and he took Kimbo down with them. I don't see good things from the HWs now that that has been exposed.
