NO, THEY ARE ALL PRO ATHLETES IT DOESNT MATTER IF ITS FIGHTING RUNNING TENNIS OR WHAT EVER. THEY ARE ATHLETES
Not disputing that. But you would almost expect someone to talk the way Dana does since it is fighting. How many "nice" fights have you been to?

Dana is the one that is always acting like the guys need to act professional so that the sport can be taken seriously. Yet he goes and acts like a child half the time. He is a hypocrit.

Cussing is worlds different than what many of the fighters do. Have any of you ever ran a business or owned a business? I have been around general partnerships and sole-proprietorships all of my life and the owners are not much different than Dana. Why is it so bad that he asks his fighters (employees) to honor a contract or actually do what they say they are going to do? Dana didn't ask these guys to be fighters.
I know at my job, I have to honor the responsibilities of my job title and if I am slipping, I hear about it. That is how business goes. The CEO of my business makes 10 times what I make, do I whine about it and say they aren't paying me enough? No I don't. Regardless if you are an average Joe or a top athlete, you work "for" somebody...they don't work "for" you. It seems like when these atheletes get to "star" status, they feel like they run the show and can get whatever they want and break whatever rules they want. But when it comes down to it, they are just employees working for someone that will always make more money than them. Then it seems they want to argue about the millions of dollars they are making not being enough. Come on man! There are people out there right now with 3 or 4 kids making it on 40k a year. Why can't these athletes make it on that? They act like they don't get paid nothing....that is nuts! They get paid plenty, they just don't know how to manage it.
Now I agree that him bashing fighters for wanting to retire to follow other dreams is a ridiculous. But in the Rampage scenario, it was justified 100% IMO.

I agree that Rampage should have finished up his contract before quiting, but if he wasnt going to be focused 100% it is prob better off if he doesnt fight. Plus, we never really will know what went down exactly. I'm really just saying that these type of issues should be dealt with in house instead of always publicly airing out all of their dirty laundry. If we are comparing this to the corporate world then you should know this is how it is run. You dont hear Bill Gates spouting off in the news about one of his engineers who took too much time off for vacation. Mostly because nobody cares, but also because you dont want negative attention drawn to you. Whatever, I like Rampage a lot as a fighter and wish he were not leaving.
I agree with this statment "these type of issues should be dealt with in house instead of always publicly airing out all of their dirty laundry"

Rampage has never been 100%. There has always been something going on with him in the background. I agree that they should be dealt with in house but in a situation like this, something has to be said because the Venue was already scheduled and his hometown fans were already pumped about seeing him fight in his hometown, and now all of the sudden he is off the card when that is the whole reason they were fighting in Memphis in the first place. And if you look at the media, it's not Dana that brought it out in the open. It was the sports portion of the media that published the stories of Rampage retiring before Dana made the first comment. Sure we hear these things before they come out on tv, but that is because we are in touch with the MMA news and get the interviews before the national media gets it out there.
What many of you don't seem to get is that (I am not kissing Dana's a** either) many of these stories only come out because of interviews. Every quote that you have read with Dana giving his opinions have been from interviews. I am sure that he publishes some of it on twitter. These are the reason I am saying that this particular case was 100% justified.
You are right, Bill Gates doesn't make announcements like this....but when do you hear anything about them? As many have said before about the UFC, bad publicity is better than no publicity at all. Whether it bad or good, it takes up much of the water cooler talk and has people tuning in to see what will happen next. They are in the ring beating the crap out of each other, I doubt they are worried about too much bad publicity. Even with all of these types of things coming out, they have worked their way to the top of the rankings, right behind the NFL. I think they are doing something right

I agree with this too.

Ya, I can def see the upside to talking about some of the crap that they bring up. It gets people more excited for the fights. Oh well, I wish Rampage would have stuck around longer though. Although, he never seemed like he really liked the whole serious training aspect of the sport, which is like what you are doing 99% of the time.

And that is what I mean by "never really 100%." He is very talented and I wish he would have stuck around longer too (he will be back). It's kind of like watching what BJ does. He has never been 100% as far as training goes and look at what he has done. Had these guys really taken their training to the next level, they could have been unstoppable their entire career.

Yup, some people are just born with crazy talent but dont want to push themselves. I have seen it a lot with people I know, its very annoying. (Just like I want to see Ussain Bolt try 100% in every race.)
