YEAH, I agree with you 100% on this one.. I cant wait.. its a GREAT card.. I love Silva as well, dude is crazy sick mean hard hitting fighter, one of my favorite fighters out there and has a serious shot at the obtaining the title if he can keep it up, Machida is a tough fight for anyone, his style is soo differnt it makes guys frustrated and impatient ... I just hope he doesnt have ring rust from being out with the injury... I'm suprised Fitch isnt on the main card,.. he loses one fight to one of the best in the world and he's demoted to the undercard... kinda jacked, but maybe this one will put him back in the limelight.

and then of course there is the main card... and we all know how that one is going to turn out... GSP ground and pound all day long... Penn will gas somewhere near the end of the 2nd round and will just be a ground punching bag the rest of the fight..

Re: UFC Primetime BJ vs GSP

I think the deal with Fitch stems from the whole "I'm not signing my name over to the UFC." If you remember, he was actually released from his contract a few months ago because of this deal. He went back to Dana and they worked out their differences. Basically the whole ATA academy was in trouble because of their decision to not sign the rights to their names over. It was a bunch of crap.

I think BJs cardio will be alot better. I have been watching all his training and he has really stepped up for this one. Me and a friend of mine were watching the GSP and Serra 2 fight yesterday. You, GSP was gassed in that fight too. His punches didn't have anything on them at the end. GSP's only chance of winning is to take BJ down and outscore him. If GSP decides to stand with BJ as redemption for BJ wrecking his face in the last fight, then GSP is done. There is no way he can win the standup battle with BJ...you can't outstrike a guy that is faster than you. GSP can't submit BJ and can't KO BJ, so he better keep taking him down and scoring if he wants to win.

I say BJ in round 2 by KO

No chance, It took 3 full rounds for him to TKO Sherk. GSP won't just stand there and throw punches anyway. if he does what he did against Fitch where he would back up a bit then come in for a combo with a kick and a punching flurry then get out he will be fine. If he stays active BJ will be in for a long fight. BJ wins if GSP lets him get too close and they just exchage blows, which would be very dumb for GSP. GSP obviously has to have a game plan and if executed well he will win. Watched the GSP v Fitch fight, and the BJ v Sherk fight over again and GSPs striking was very impressive to me (Fitch has an iron jaw for sure). BJs looked good but nothing new. He just jabbed him for 3 rounds till he got an opening. GSP will be throwing in kicks and the take down threat and hopefully not just standing there eating jabs.

What does Sherk have to do with GSP? Sherk has twice the chin that GSP has. Fitch has a good jaw but GSP has no KO power. If GSP stands with BJ period, he loses...that is pretty unanimous throughout the MMA community. GSP has average kicks. They are nothing great and nothing that Bj hasn't seen before. Bj has kicks and knees...he just never uses them. GSPs striking looks good against a non-striker. Sherk is twice the striker that Fitch is. So what if BJs looked like nothing new. Basics are much safer. People get too caught up in the "flashy" strikes that usually do nothing except get you caught. GSP has not changed technique at all since their first fight so what makes you think the standup will be any different this time? BJ has some of the best standup in MMA. He is much quicker and more accurate than GSP.

I'll say it again...if GSP wants to win this fight, he needs to utilize his takedowns. If he wants to make it a stand up fight, then he will lose.

Either way, we will find out tomorrow night.

I disagree... if GSP plays the right game, which he has proven to do over and over and over again in his career, he can win a standup only game.. he just needs to stay out of BJ's jab, which ill admit is freaking good... i think he will mix it up with standup and take down and ground and pound to just turn BJ's face and body into hamburger meat...

STRELLA WERE WATCHING THE SAME FIGHT WE DID WHEN BJ FOUGHT SHERK,LOL BJ JUST KEPT PUNCHING HIM IN HIS FACE WITH NO PROBLEMS,AND BJ STOOD BETWEEN ROUNDS AND SHERK SAT DOWN. CONDITIONING WILL NOT BE A FACTOR WITH BJ PENN AT ALL.

Koscheck is a MUCH MUCH better wrestler then BJ and GSP totally dominated him in wrestling.. GSP has olympic quality wrestling skills, BJ will probably be able to stop some shots in the 1st round or 2, but he wont be able to in the later rounds... GSP is going to win this fight... thats why the oddsmakers have him as the favorite

I agree that GSP has much better wrestling, but once he gets BJ on the ground, he is much different than Kos.

So by your theory, every time a fighter is the favorite, they win?
                          Let's see:

                          Serra beat GSP
                          Jardine beat Liddell
                          Mir beat Nog
                          Brock beat Randy
                          Forrest beat Rampage
                          Anderson beat Franklin 1
                          Rampage beat Wandy

Just to name a few off the top of my head. Going by your theory, I would have lost my ass because all of the favorites (by betting odds) lost
