Re: Could Bears See A Massive Turnover In Personnel?
Take into consideration it was ONLY 4 INT in 3 games. Cutler was already pissed at the Broncos organization for firing the entire Shanahan regime, and wanted out.
Did Cutler intentionally play at a lot less capability? No one can say for sure, but guys have admitted that they have done it in the past. If he did, that doesn't make it right. But Cutler has already proven he's a capable QB.
Look at Favre. He has one of the highest INT ratios of any NFL QB. Get him out of Green Bay and in Minnesota, and he's only throw something like 5 INT for the whole season. So I am a firm believer that a coaching staff makes a lot more of a difference than people think. Cutler doesn't call audibles. He probably should be allowed to, since he's sucking right now. But he does what his coaching staff tells him. On, for example, a "wide 15 right", the coaches say "When your receiver goes 15 yards, throw the ball and the receiver will be there waiting for it." But if the other guys on the line aren't blocking or leading the safetys and corners, the defense will be there first. Which I believe is the case with Cutler. The boy can throw. I don't think his coordinators can call plays.
