For a 4th round pick. Damn! I wish the Eagles would have picked him up. I would have given a 3rd rounder for him.

Re: Randy Moss traded to Patriots
Yo T-dog,
I`m with ya on the teams having to use nickle and cover two but... That depends on what type of season moss is gonna have. If you play fantasy football, then you`re famillar with the fact that brady`s never lights up one reciever for big reception numbers. I`ve seen brady have a 300 yd passing day but no reciever has more than 50 yards - 7 different players with receptions, etc. I actually think that strategy is why Brady is so good but...
Moss is a super-ball hog, cry baby, attention *****... and that is not what the patriots are all about at all.
So I think it`ll come down one of two ways:
1. The first big problem he has or creates Moss holds a press conference, blaming racism and the coaches bias against people who are named for small cute green plants that grow on trees. And moss gets benched, end of story.
2. This could be just the discpline that the still young reciever needs. Moss graciously accepts his 800 yard season in exchange for helping the RB, TE go for over 1000 each and the team goes deep into the playoffs. Moss finds his groove with Brady and becomes the comback story of the year and possible superbowl linchpin player getting lit up for 170 yards in the big one... maybe.

Re: Randy Moss traded to Patriots
I agree! I think this organization is just what he will need to mature. The Vikings didn't make him mature, the best thing he had there was Chris Carter and when he retired, Moss went down hill. That's where the guys like Stallworth come in. Washington is a very talented and I think it will bring him back to the old days when he wasn't the only star. Let's face it, he was the best WR in Oakland so that's what defenses focused on. In NE, he will be wide open some plays and so will the other guys. Also, his performance in Oakland was the result of a losing team. It doesn't matter how good you are, when you lose that bad, it takes something out of you. I'm not a fan of Moss because of some of his behavior but I would like to see the man grow up and become a mature super star. With the core of WR's and they way Brady spreads the ball around, he's going to find himself on the end of some deep passes. He will be the best deep threat they have. So, IMO, even if they only get him 4-5 passes, he's got a good chance to rack up 80 to 100 yards because 1 or even 2 of those passes should be break away TD's. And they will more than likely be set up with play action right after some huge run by one of the RB's. The only way I see a team shutting him down is one with a Deangelo Hall, Champ Bailey or one of those types of CB's. So, who going to keep up with everyone else? So, palying Ne this year is going to be a totaly chess match. Teams are going to have to try and predict when the want to go deep, show deep coverage to make Brady take the underneath man and hope your OLB's are fast enough to drop back and make a play on the ball. It's going to be a good year for NE I think. Moss knows he won't have to carry the team, just like when he was with the Vikings. Between him, Carter and the RB (I think it was Smith) they were a powerful threat. Well, now they have that same trio PLUS a good TE and another two really good WR's. This is why I think Washington is going to have his break out year because that's the guy who will fly under the radar at first. Then, once he and Brady establish that connection, it's up to Brady to know which one of those guys will be open.
I hope Moss can grow up, there's nothing worse than a fantastic God given talent ruined by arrogance and immaturity. And, Dillon was a little bit a problem child when he went there so they know how to deal with that. This will bea good thing for Moss IMO. It will be a bad thing for the rest of the AFC.

Re: Randy Moss traded to Patriots
The Raiders HAD TO get rid of Randy Moss. Moss had made his mind up that Oakland was not a fit for him and he was requesting (HEAVILY) a trade to a contender. They are trying to rebuild the team in Oakland and Randy is not the kind of guy that they needed in the clubhouse poisoning everyone's mind. They need all of their players on board. With Randy there they couldn't have that. The fourth round pick wasn't the best that they could have done, and I don't know the particulars, but I am betting that Moss had some kind of "no trade" agreement in his contract that would have made it very difficult to trade him to a team willing to give up a first day pick to get him. I'm sure that Randy said that he would go quietly into the night if the team was the Pats and the Pats and Oakland could only agree on a fourth round pick. But, its all history now...we will see what the next chapter brings!
