Odell Beckham Jr. and the Giants are "closing in" on a five-year contract extension, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The deal is worth $95 million with $65 million guaranteed and will make Beckham the highest-paid receiver in NFL history, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson. Mike Evans previously held the record after signing a $82.5 million contract in March.

Beckham's new deal will pay him an average of $18 million per year according to ESPN's Dan Graziano. The contract includes a full $65 million injury guarantee, and a $41 million guarantee at the signing of the deal. The first three years of Beckham's extension will pay him an average of $19.5 million.

um, hasnt he been injured the last 2-3 years and only completed one full season? so now he is going to be paid a boat load and may get hurt in game one or two just like last year. smh, i would have added in a you lose your money if you get hurt clause to the contract

damn, that is a lot of $$$. yeah a premium top 5 receiver WHEN HEALTHY. I think his ego is bigger than his productivity. I think you need a QB to get him the ball and Eli is not looking good.

$65 million guaranteed to a guy that is guaranteed to get injured , not to mention he acts like an idiot.
The giants screwed up big time by not drafting a good QB

He is not worth it. If he played on a team with a great QB, he is worth 10 to 15 million a year. That is it.

hell no. only a handful of these guys are professionals and act like it. the rest are over paid punks and even with the level of talent they have, they cause more of a head ache than what they give back to the team. that and like i said before, they gave him all that money and he has yet to finish a season, smh. doesnt matter if you are the best player their is, doesnt do any good if you cant play because you are broken

half of this deal was NOT letting him go to another team the other half was having an elite receiver on the roster. Eli looks done. He played horrible last season. Maybe they think they can bring him back to superbowl form?

I remember when movie stars wanted $20 million for a movie. Tom Cruise, etc. Now NFL players are making as much money as movie stars and rock stars. Its crazy. The amount of money is hard to even comprehend. Oh well, as long as we are being entertained and are watching, we are helping pay their salary
