Picked up my new S&W 9mm Shield yesterday. Digging it. Came with a 6 and a 7 round magazine. $75 rebate until June 30 so i couldn't even pass it up. Waiting on my concealed carry holster for it and the pinky rest/magazine extender for the 6 round clip arriving today in the mail.

got a little too excited to put the pinky extender on the mag when it came in mail yesterday. never unloaded the mag and popped the factory seal to put the extender on while wofe was watching me and she just had the slightest smirk as the spring and six rounds popped up and hit me in the face. i just said yea that was stupid and she said well you handled it well and didn't throw anything lol.You may not recognize your mom when you get home, I shaved her back.

Anything is better then nothing. Im not a huge fan of the smaller guns for CC BUT they have there purpose and place. Sometimes I wish I had one. for when I just can't carry one of my other guns.I never meant to be better than anyone, I was just born that way. Its hard being a god amongst peasants!Comment

I used to feel that way about the smaller ones too. However, when wearing workout pants or shorts, the LCP is a nice one to have. I'm all for a larger caliber, but 7 rounds of hollow point 380 is better than nothing. I honestly only really carry 9mm I usually carry a block 26. A smaller weapon isn't something i would like to carry everyday but if it was my only option i sure as hell would. Literally anything is better then nothing. And exactly what you said, i have been wearing basketball sorts out a lot more and i can't carry one of my heavier weapons so i have actually been thinking about getting a smaller weapon to carry at these times.Originally posted by JsJs24 View Post

you guys are like my gun brothers. I too prefer the higher capacity and reduced recoil of the 9mm over the .40 and .45. with modern powders and ballistics the 9mm is damn close to those other calibers and 2- shots center mass from a 9mm is better than 1 from a .40 or .45
I shot a .40 shield. it was a snappy bastard. in a full size steel gun like a 1911 felt recoil is far less but for a poly frame light carry gun, not so much (i love both my 1911s but I would not carry them)
I use to carry my full size M&P but I got where I totally stopped and carry either my shield or my wee little P3AT .380. practice with what you carry is key.

That's what myself and my wife both concealed/carry. We bought them about 1 1/2 years ago so I'm jealous over the deal you got yours for. I went through about 5 different holsters before I found the mini-tuck by Crossbreed Holster...I love it.
