So last week six of us from corporate flew out to Chicago for a refresher course on life fitness/hammer strength equipment at their hq. We had two days of classes and hands on stuff and three of us from my group got to be part of a focus group to give feedback on a new model treadmill they were going to be releasing. It was nice to be recognized for our experience(I've been a tech for seven years now) and for them to want our feedback. We were also given nice hammer strength golf jackets and a planner. The heads of service, sales and engineering took us out for dinner and drinks two nights out of the week. After our testing was done they went over the answers but weren't giving out individual scores. Then before we parted the factory for our focus group one of the instructors pulled me aside and shook my hand and said I got a 97 which was the highest score in the class. It felt good to get that validation from the instructors. Of course on the downside we didn't get to train at all while we were away and we drank every damn night but it was a good bonding experience for us all. The other amazing thing to me was I didn't watch tv at all for five days. We were just in class and then out for dinner and drinks and then bed. I am anxious to get to the gym in the am. Time to get back to it.
