anybody have any friends or family that continually ask for favors, $, or to borrow somthing. my brother in law is one of these guys every month he asks my wife for $10-$20 "for rent" or my videos or games that he pawns how can you be short every damn month. i told him to quit smoking a pack and a half a day and he could pay his rent then i asked him when is he going to pay me back. my wife called my mobile and told me to quit pickin on him. what am i to do she keeps given him $ and my stuff that he never return. when we were moving i caught him helping his self to change my son keeps in his piggy bank. thats another story ( he got whupped). i dont trust him nor do i like him and i dont like our hard earned money going to this mooching sack of shit that gives nothing back to this family but seed burns from his dope in the carpet the lazy bastard works but wont even mow the yard for his mom he still lives at home how many bills can he have his rent is only $200. its my wifes brother and i know i have to deal with him but i hate the guy.

his step dad beat him like a grown man (wait he is grown) when we caught him stealing from my little son. i wanted to get mine but he just sat in the corner with a bloody nose crying i felt sorry for him. i am going to have a heart to heart with my wife tonight but i dont know if she will listen he is her baby brother for life.

That's a tough one guy.

I'd say you give him the "20 foot notice" which entails "You come within 20 feet of me, my family, or my property...your fair game" But the wife isn't going to like that.

You really need to work it out with her, because whatever you do isn't going to mean shit without her backing.

Explain to her that he needs to learn responsibility, and he's NEVER going to learn that when his big sister is constantly babysitting him. And YOUR the one paying for it. Obviously you can't tell her what to do. But can you say something like "He's not allowed to borrow any of your stuff and if she wants to lend him money, she has to do it out of her personal funds not take money away from your family (son may work better)"

i finished talking to my wife about it a few minutes ago. she started crying. she said she every time she gives him money he tells her he is going to stop smokin pot and get a real job working more than 20 hours a week. i think she understands but she loves her brother no matter how worthless he is. she said she will have a talk with him to tell him he cant have anymore $ from us we need it for ourselves.

Good job, sounds like she's seeing the light here.

You may need to be with her for "emotional support" when it's time to talk to the brother. Tho, that could also cause problems bepending on what your relationship with him is like. It does sound like she'll need some help or at least a little push when it comes time.
