when it was setup at the start of our country no. but when george washington finished up his term, that's when we started getting a couple corrupt people here and there. then it just got worse and worse over the years to where we are now. no one in office is there for the people. if you took away all the salaries and benefits these cock suckers get and eliminated all the business ties and made them illegal, we may have 2 or 3 people in office if that. if we paid them based on how much they actually work and their performance like all the other jobs in the world we would have a ton of people fired and a surplus in our budget haha
