The Drug Enforcement Administration on Thursday rejected calls to relax a nearly five decade-classification of marijuana as a dangerous drug on par with heroin and ecstasy, dealing a blow to pro-legalization advocates and the budding pot industry.

Hmmmm Ok, there is corruption everywhere now in America and am sure this decision is as tainted as any. The alcohol and pharmaceutical industreis are opposed to legalization, so you follow the money

Classifying marijuana as a schedule 1 drug is utterly absurd. But they'll keep pumping pharmaceuticals and pouring booze..shows money is more important than human life

For nearly a century the government has been propagandizing the terrors of cannabis, from Reefer Madness to Nancy Reagan's Just Say No anti-drug campaign. It has been one lie after another in an attempt to discredit a plant which our brains have receptors for and the evidence is showing the health benefits that consuming it has. Big pharma is not interested in "curing" or "healing", they are about the bottom line . Therefore, for these profit driven pharmaceutical companies, cures do not provide the same profits that simply treating a symptom does.. Plus, the treatment itself produces more symptoms that will need to be treated with more pharmaceuticals.

in a free county you'd be able to own your own body and do or put into it what ever you want. it's your body not the governments, well it was your body, now its owned by the government. it will decide what you can and can't do to it.
