The conversation should be about how much the parents have to pay to replace the gorilla not how terrible it is that the animal had to be killed to save a child. How have we slipped so far to put animals above human life. We can put a worth on an animal but not a human life. Yes the parents suck so we should turn our back on every child raised by a crappy parent. Can't go there.
Rake I'm almost positive everyone here wanted the kid to be safe and not injured, People are just frustrated that it happened and yes its the Parents fault but no one is saying screw the kid there just saying its sad to see the Gorilla die due to A Parents fuk up.And we all pretty much would of rathered seen 10 Dart guns all at once with a heavy dose shoot the gorilla to put it a sleep rather then killing it I don't believe in zoos All Animals should be free they aren't to be caged but hey its the way of the world. I'm not saying that we should turn our backs on children , Absolutely Not , but if the parents were more attentive , things like this wouldn't happen !!!
And again I'm not saying that it's not something that can happen . We Are Human , and make mistakes , but so much nowadays happens to small children because of negligence from " Parents " !!!
Shit bro , I know I'm not the best parent , I know I have faults , and I know that there's always things I could do better . But I'll tell u what , my son , when he goes out with me , knows what he can and cannot do !!! He knows that he stays near daddy and not to wander off , UNLESS , daddy is with him or can see him .
It's just a shame that some parents just don't take due diligence with certain things that way , and these are the things that happen .

On the only positive side that gorilla is free now and not basically living in a prison with obnoxious people making faces at him and yelling things to try to get him to be an exciting exhibition to check out. We are allowed our opinion, there's a lot to learn from this situation on everyone's level. Unfortunately the gorilla don't have that shot but human life over animal no matter whose at fault. Just like a officer involved shooting you step back and fix it, train it and don't let it happen again. American zoos are very safe places so I trust they will fix the issues. Course I had the initial feelings about the patent but I'm also a parent and no how those little shits can be at times.
Also having been someone whose taken life and having friends who have also please don't fall into the "why didn't you just taze them or shoot them with a bean bag gun bs". It's easy for us to sit here and Monday morning qb the shooting of a gorilla but they had the training and made the split second decision. It's not fair to make those judgements through a computer screen or periodical. I've seen the "toughest" dip shits fold like cheap suits under intense stress
I haven't voiced my opinion on this but it is an unfortunate accident. I will not judge parents here but all I know is if it were my child, or any other for that matter, I would be thinking about the child safety as my immediate reaction. If this child was harmed by the animal, in an attempt to save both, I do believe opinions would be quite different
