    Re: My dad

I am fairly new here but I have had several people on this site already help me tremendously so I guess I feel comfortable enough to admit that I lost my dad to suicide 22 years ago today.. Baby what you are doing with your dad (cherishing the moments you do have with him) is so very important as we may at times have taken our time with our family or friends for granted. Do your best to let them know how much you care and be there with them every chance you get.. Thank you for sharing this Baby..

I guess when it comes to my parents, I am trying to prepare for what is inevitable...

its something no body wants to talk about but to me its a must.. especially after seeing what my wife went thru when her father passed which is this sunday.. her mother his wife didn't know anything about his life insurance or who it was with or anything about the bank info or what bills got paid to who.. she didn't have money to bury him.. she called me crying bc they wanted payment up front before they buried him which I understand but at that time it something they didn't want to deal with or understand. I told her on the phone put it on the amex the man has to be put to rest..

its never a good subject to talk about.. I went out years ago and got a life insurance policy on myself because it something happened to me she couldn't afford the house by herself and I didn't want her to lose her husband and then lose our house that would be a lot of any person to deal with..

I thank my parents everyday for making me the man I am today..and giving me the values I have..

noting to be ashamed of.. I have lost several friends to suicide.. after they were gone I ask myself why they didn't talk to somebody.. they all seemed ok with everything.. I know life can get tough but you battle your way thru it.. it is something I will never understand.. I would talk to anybody who was thinking about doing that to help them..

I am sorry tattooboy, and sharing your story is a hard thing to do. We are here for one another. I have never taken my parents for granted and never will. they are the very solid foundation to who I am and I am very blessed.
